It seems too much to think bitcoin can destroy the world. I think that bitcoin will be limited or prevented if it will endanger the world economy.

That's like saying will a bunch of digital currency cause a planet of 7.5billion inhabitants to dissipate? You might as well have asked if cryptocurrecy would be the death of Kim Jung Un. There's no relationship with bitcoin and the destruction of world .

At the present time I have not seen any negative issues with Bitcoin in our world. Bitcoin helps us save time and money, with maximum security and superior value added to bring great profits to investors.
Only the amount of electricity used for Bitcoin transactions exceeds the level, which in turn increases the amount of GHG on Earth and makes climate change worse and faster in the future. But I'm sure there will be timely solutions to this.

Bitcoin mining is based on very high energy costs and environmental costs.

One bitcoin =20 barrels of oil.

How many barrels of oil do you think the industry consumes every year?

10 barrels? 50 barrel?

Each year, the mining industry consumes more than 24 terawatts of energy, the equivalent of 13,239,916 barrels of oil.

Every 10 minutes, 12.5 bitcoins are dug up, meaning 20 barrels of crude oil have been reached since each bitcoin was dug up (not yet traded).

In other words, the amount of energy consumed by the global bitcoin mining campaign is 40 times greater than the amount of energy needed to support the Visa card network.

One bitcoin transaction = one American family USES electricity a week.

According to encrypt the currency analyst Alex DE Vries estimate an index, the currency trading energy consumed each year more than 24 tw, this is equivalent to total energy consumed each year in Nigeria, which has a population of 186 million.

Currently, about 300,000 bitcoins are traded each day. Each bitcoin transaction costs 215 kilowatt-hours of energy.

The average American household USES about 901 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month, which means that each bitcoin exchange consumes enough energy to make an American family comfortable for a week.

What do you think about the energy consumption of bitcoin?
Hoping so that its not going to be happen.and i hope that its going go be legal already because this is the only way that people earn money to support there needs especially to those jobless person.but i think that bitcoin is not the reason to destroy our world.

Come to think of it, bitcoins do consume energy. It consumes electricity which is produced by using oil to power diesel generators which gives off major carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions. Who knew bitcoins would mean the destruction of our ecosystems.

Now the question arises: killing the banking system will destroy the world? Right now the Bitcoin ecosystem cannot sustain such a big influx of transactions as banks can, so if banks would suddenly disappear, Bitcoin alone couldn’t replace them. But we have thousands of other cryptocurrencies, most of them very scalable and capable of sustaining high transaction volumes. To answer the question: if tomorrow we would wake up in a world without banks, all business in the world would come to a temporary stop but it will eventually recover. Anyway, we are discussing now in the fictional plane because if cryptos could replace banks, that would mean that scalability issues are gone and the infrastructure can handle the workload. And that will not happen overnight.

I didn't know bitcoins can need so much oil for mining these digital currencies. I even thought that going full digital is actually helping the environment loosen-up because we won't have to chop down trees anymore for green dollars. Now I'm starting to think if bitcoins are even eco-friendly.

Yes I agree, to sum up, Bitcoin will never destroy the world; it will help the world or the people worldwide to have a great opportunity to become successful or entrepreneur on their own.

Bitcoin will never destroy the world. We have many source of energy and we use it in many ways. Not only bitcoin use energy, Many other technology and invention also use energy. Why is it bitcoin is the cause of destroying the world? I am not agree on that statement.

Hmm, an interesting turn. But you know consumption of electricity is already very high all around the globe so an additional volumes won`t change the situation dramatically. Of course there will be more electricity spend but I think that it won`t destroy our ecosystems more. Harmful emissions and people`s negligence towards nature (throwing thrash for instance) bring more damage.

Definitely Bitcoin has high consumption percentage in  electricity when you'll mine Bitcoins but Bitcoins have many advantage like when sending transactions Bitcoin is easily transfer payments with no hassle and transaction charge is not too huge. Bitcoin will not destroy the world in fact there are many good uses all thing have negative and positive advantages it depends on how you use.

I think these numbers are not correct you can't just throw big numbers and say that it is true crypto is one of the most energy efficient means think about the amount of paper which is used worldwide to print money think about the amount of material used to issue coins and not only the raw material the amount of energy required to actually produce the required material is very high a note may get discontinued in 5 to 10 years but a crypto once mined will stay in market till the end of that ico and yes talking about consumption of oil there are many renewable sources of energy which can be used but it is our fault that we are not using it . This oil consumption is not only for mining there are also other things which use up energy much more than just mining so according to me bitcoin or any other crypto will not destroy or end the world

I don't see any bad here unless it will use to illegal things. Yes it might consumed high energy but not all mining do that. You should not just throw what you believe rather search about something about bitcoin on how it gave people an extra income.

Until now, bitcoin is still the best and probably has a lot of bitcoin enthusiasts, so if it is bitcoin will destroy the world why bitcoin is still there today, because I know that bitcoin has been much help from all circles whether it is not capable as well as classmates enliven the bitcoin, so there is no reason for anyone to ask if the bitcoin will spoil the world, the only one answer is not true.
