What is this obsession with MtGox and Litecoin?
What difference will it make if it does start supporting Litecoin? The answer, nothing.

Says other cryptocurrencies so i am not sure if they just mean litecoin or even if they do mean litecoin. I hope that would be one of them though.

At the last sentence.

"Finally, the implementation of this new infrastructure is a prerequisite before we can initiate Midas. There is still a lot of work to be done before we can launch Midas but rest assured this is a priority project for us. Once Midas is up and running we will be able to offer the trading of other digital currencies."

No, they don't. LTC may be implied but that is not what they said. For all we know it could be shitcoin. It also sounds like it could be a while. Almost half a year ago they mentioned LTC coming "soon" and now they're saying there's a lot of work to be done before supporting any other currencies and not even mentioning LTC directly, so yeah don't expect anything for a while.

The cryptoworld is a very different place than 2 years ago. MtGox just isn't as important any more.

I wouldn't put my flat/coins anywhere near there. Also as another poster pointed out, good luck getting your flat out.

1st December? You are one optimistic chap.

You will be lucky to see LTC on Gox by middle of next year, if ever. And they may end up adding quite a few coins which will dilute the relevance of LTC. In fact, it even trigger a fall as the current prices are mostly due the 'LTC will eventually go to Gox' thinking.

Also, with every passing day it seems like, Gox? meh.

Well stated.

 Case in point:
=========

Politics have entered into MtGox for USA customers.

Toss in that at any moment someone else besides MtGox and their present competitors may finally rise to the occasion (Here, or Offshore) and well let's just say I didn't bother too much with MtGox when I reached for my first btc/fiat account somewhere very early this year. Nor would I bother with MtGox anymore at all, being here in the states, instead of there in Japan.

And why would anyone in their right mind still want to reach to MtGox if here since their BTC prices are the highest of all the majors today? Not to mention not too long ago they had BTC far too centralized, and very much under their sway & semi-control, and well BTC was almost fully dependent on them back then. Not good.

For those reasons alone why care if they finally do what they say they would with LTC ? Obviously many since then saw the same things and ran elsewhere for their own Fiat/Crypto Exchange Servicing needs. Smart.

Sure LTC needs what BTC has. So do many other viable and worthy alt coins.

Nothing but internal and external BTC Politics, as well as National Politics is holding anyone back from swinging open the doors for LTC, and other crypto-coins for that matter. And even under all current duress some are already trying to get this all established regardless.

Not to mention what others abroad may already have well into the planning stages!

This has merely all just begun.

Why we need mtgox to trade litecoin, if you want to buy litecoin, please go to btc-e or some other trading platforms, don't always spread this rumor.

Just the facts: the easier it is to buy a coin, the better. A MtGox listing will help Litecoin. This whole crypto thing has just started. Give it time to develop.

I cannot imagine that LTC is added in times like these. Who knows what the effect on Bitcoin would be if major exhanges suddenly trade LTC. If Bitcoin price is severally affected, I can imagine the anger.
