From what I understand, Facebook only bans ads that promote initial coin offering. It didn't say it will ban cryptocurrency at all, just those deceiving ICO. Maybe their algorithm can't filter out which is scam and which is not. There's a good thing though. I stopped being hooked up with scam one and started to invest with more caution from now. To be honest, some crypto ads are just to odd.

This is part of an internal forces from the government. Its definitely a pleasure from the government that is forcing Google to ban cryptocurrency ads. Well, the government sees digital currency as a threat which might take away the popular fiats. But also, according to them, they are like wisely preventing people from getting scammed from fake ICOs which if you look at it differently its a good thing.

This is good news for crypto as it will prevent those scam ads from running now and prevent new users from getting scammed or phised.

If google are being pressured to ban crypto ads, I wonder if this will eventually transpire to Youtube videos of people shilling ICOs. i.e Suppoman, Ian Ballina etc.

When there is absolutely brand new field for money without any control we have a lot of danger aspects for investors. That's why FBI and others are involved in this game. Big players dont like to give their money for free (to be cheated on). It's normal for security until we are able to get profit here.

It was Facebook first, I wasn't expecting Google to care but it's crazy to see the FBI involved.

But for what it's worth, I think this is good news. Those ads were terrible and I think other sites will follow suit.

Thoughts?

i dont think that it will happening right now although facebook crypto ads are not that usual but somesort there is still an ads on facebook promoting ICO , so i dont think that the are obeying the rules . Maybe if FBI will do some sanction reagrding that ICO on social media will be stopped .

By such actions, the FBI protects the us stock market. This is my opinion. But it seems to me that this will not lead them to the desired result. The entire global financial system no longer suits people. In such circumstances, it will be difficult to convince people that there is no alternative. Investment mechanisms are also losing their relevance. ICO is only the first signals of this.

this is bad news for crypto currency because it will make bitcoin price will more down again. everyone will be more agitated because they are holding bitcoins at this time. I hope Google still accepts bitcoins and will still show ads about crypto currency.

I heard about these sad news, but I did not fully believe in such a turn in this situation. Can you imagine how much money Google is losing? I think that the bill goes on billions of dollars, of course, in this case, I think it could be better for bounty hunters.

I think that at this point it's a reasonable decision as there is a lot of ICO scam. Maybe they will reconsider when the market gets more regulated.
In the future, it would be good if they allow such advertising by companies which are registered and regulated, to make sure their ICO (or something similar) is not a scam.

As the titans are out, there are other sources that run ads related with crypto on the internet. This is merely a battle, which crypto lost until further regulations are on.

This is such a vague article with no specific measures. Anyway, even going by it, all it points to is the prevention of random ico scammers. Anyway, its laughable to imagine that kind of pressure on google and facebook by any single government authority on a global scale.

It's not new anymore, This FBI wants to manipulate the market coz i know governments will come back real soon as they reviewed all the cryptocurrency related. I watched some video that they are going to regulate bitcoin soon. I can't wait to see what will be the next event that will happen on bitcoin.

Of course they are losing money but Google is an American company and they have to comply, they have no option or their CEO risk going to jail, however Google is a gigantic company while many icos are just small startups trying to make a difference so it is very obvious to me that it is a bigger hit for icos than it is for Google.

I think this is good and bad news. Good what fraudsters will not be able to advertise their scam projects and the bad that the popularization of cryptocurrency will decrease

This is always a problem, a new restriction is put to cryptocurrencies in order to curb the activity of scammers and yet most honest projects are the ones that end up paying the price for the scammers and yet they are always going to find a new way to promote their fake projects, so it is a shame that has come to that because this is going to slow down adoption.
