No one would actually gamble with a negative attitude but being positive isn't too easy, as for most when they roll their first bet they lose and that causes lot of stress and negative attitude towards their game.

Positive thinking means being optimistic about the outcome, thinking that the results will be "positive". On the other hand, being focused at something means that you are looking at the whole picture and you're not being affected by external noises. Your focus is only at one thing.
