XRP and XLP both are good and these both coins are nowadays gaining a lot of demand in the government bodies, banks, and finance sector and also by the other people in the world. Both these coins are undergoing tough competition among themselves and i think that both are experiencing a good challenge and they soon will be realizing that it is tough to show the consistency in this crypto market and i think stellar will soon replace the ripple in the coming months in many sectors.

Personally I prefer XLM but I really find the need to put down the other just because you hold one kind of silly. Hold both or hold one and be happy and let others chose what they want to hold. This isnt a us vs them situation.

Wow, that was interesting. So that is just illusion of choice - ripple and stellar are centralized both and can cause some surprisers for holders.
And I dont understand topic starter. Why only two of these coins? Why not trying to find some new altcoins with low capitalization which promise to be big things. Maybe because it requires some time

I think XLM is better than XRP unconditionally because ripple is a scam and not a cryptocurrency. Even doge is better than ripple.

Despite the fact that Ripple (XRP) and Stellar (XLM) have much in common (they are developed by the same person), I prefer Stellar (XLM).
Yes, Ripple has one big plus! XRP already uses large players like American Express, UniCredit, Royal Bank of Scotland, Standarv Chartered, UBS, Santander and Credit Argicole for international transactions and about 100 more banks.

Ripple this is not the kind of coin you can hope for, it is completely different from many. Stellar, on the other hand, is better kept for a long time, a project in the very development, and therefore in the future you can say that the reason for your success is that the XLM was holding a coin.

I keep both coins in almost equal proportions. I'm not trying to choose just one of them. As for me there must be different coins in my portfolio. This strategy reduces risks. But to be honest I like XLM a little bit more than XRP.

These two are both from top-10. Investing in either of the two would be beneficial in the nearest future. Personally, I would split my available capital in two and would invest half of it in XRP, and the half in XLM. Investing in top-10 cryptocurrencies is always a good idea.

You say that you will choose from the price, but for what?
