Biggest army, most traded currency, the biggest part of the technology sector revolves around the companies in Silicon Valley plus it helps that
they control most of the media/internet/news. Plus if you read/speak in English you will get pointed to the USA time and time again.
If you're sick of the USA learn Chinese, Japanese or Arabic.

Actually no. China has the largest army, some 1.000.000 soldiers then USA, then USa, then India, North Korea.... Japan is the most technologically advanced country, even South Korea is more advanced then USA. Control of news and media is nothing compared to some other countries, and most of people living in USA don't even know how can news be controlled. English can point anyone to any English speaking country, some of them: UK, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, USA...
So, again English ≠ USA. And one more thing regarding how many people speak certain language

Yeah, actually the biggest army is the North Korean, the point was USA has the most powerful army, but I get your point.

If you spend more cash on something it doesn't mean you get more. You could also pay for quality. But when numbers overwhelm you quality doesn't matter. For instance the chinese. They are so damn many and in my country Romania in every city you go you will see lots and lots of chinese people and the bigger the city the bigger their numbers. And that's happening in most countries. They are common people but imagine if they have to fight for their families back in china to survive. So spending more doesn't mean you have the edge.

If you say so. Personally I don't think a war with China would have much to do with infantry.

If I buy a single car for 200.000$ and I you buy 20 cars for 5k each who will transport 100T faster considering you have 20 drivers? You ofc. China has 2.5mill soldiers atm and it can probably mobilase 20mill more in case of war. Also America spends some 700 billion on military while China spends 180 billion. So thats not even 4x more. Also keep in mind that average pay for their soldiers isnt even close to average pay for USA soldiers.

Wilikon you are right. I'm 24. So this means that only the name changes and not the facts. Thanks.

Not a problem. Always go to the source as much as possible, not the main stream media. And if this source is a book, always try to get a good profile of the author's political viewpoint. Then get another source talking about the same subject but with someone on the other end of the political compass. The truth about anything will be somewhat in the middle. That middle will you making your own mind.
Everything is in permanent state of flux, but on a tangent line, like the price of a bitcoin Smiley

If you refuse that exercise then you'll become naive and ultimately cynical and bitter about everything.

If you think a war against China would come down to jeeps and soldiers your probably right, but what scenario could possibly lead to that? China spent a lot more last year then in the past, but it takes years for that money to take effect. A larger population and about 35% more people in the military is no game changer. They need to build things like battleships before they outpace us.

Annual DoD Report Claims Steady Chinese Military Expansion

http://www.defensenews.com/article/20130506/DEFREG02/305060008/

WASHINGTON — China continues to rapidly modernize and expand its military and has deployed an anti-ship missile that could attack vessels more than 1,500 kilometers away, according to a new Pentagon report.

The Pentagon’s annual assessment on the growth of China’s military also said the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is likely behind attacks on US computer networks.

“In 2012, numerous computer systems around the world, including those owned by the U.S. government, continued to be targeted for intrusions, some of which appear to be attributable directly to the Chinese government and military,” said the report, which was released on Monday.

The administration has been more public about cyber attacks from China in recent months, starting with Thomas Donilon, President Barack Obama’s national security adviser, naming China in a March speech and culminating in high-level military talks at the end of April.

By committing to paper the notion that China, and specifically the Chinese military, is behind some of these cyber intrusions, the report continues the pressure on China to negotiate a solution to the escalating problem.

China’s military budget continues to grow. In March, China announced an annual military budget of $114 billion, a 10.7 percent increase. Between 2003 and 2012, Beijing’s budget grew an average of 9.7 percent each year.

But DoD projects China is spending much more on defense than it discloses. In 2012, the DoD estimates China spent between $135 billion and $215 billion on military-related expenditures.

Growth in Chinese military spending is getting extra attention as part of the Pentagon’s effort to place a greater focus on the Asia-Pacific region following a decade of conducting counterinsurgency missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The PLA continued its naval and aircraft advancements in 2012.

China commissioned its first aircraft carrier in September 2012 and conducted its first launch and recovery of a fighter aircraft in November.

“We anticipate that China will spend the next three to four years on training and integration before achieving an operationally effective aircraft carrier capability,” David Helvey, deputy assistant secretary of defense for East Asia, said Monday during a briefing at the Pentagon. “China will likely build several indigenous aircraft carriers over the next 15 years.”

Why almost everything has to revolve around usa? Usa does that, usa doesn't do that, usa is going to crash and so on. Short lesson of history: america was discovered by europeans and colonized by them.end of lesson.

Short lesson of modern history: currently, USA is the biggest empire in the world, and Europe is one of its colonies. End of lesson.

If you were to consider the number of "armed" people in the USA, 1.000.000 is a tiny number, so is 2.500.000.
