It's all because of the sudden increase of bitcoin in the market last December. For now the reason why bitcoin is going down its because bitcoin is just taking a break from last December fast phase increase. Many people I asked about this and they said it the same as mine. Bitcoin is always decreasing by the First quarter up to the second quarter then it will regain it's high value by the end of the year or maybe the beginning of the last quarter.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?
The bitcoin will rapidly will going down because of holiday season especially this holy week season. This is the big impact why the volatie movement of crypto coins was going down beacuse the investors dump their profits for vacation purposes.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?
That is not the reason, every crypto currency is falling now so number of crypto currencies is not a matter. But normally the crypto currency price will hit down trend in beginning of year so this is happening in this year also but many factors causing the price fall is rumors and ad bans from reputed companies.
right . Once someone deliberately launches rumors to market, then people fear and sell what they have at low prices and this is the opportunity for those who create Rumors can buy bitcoin at low prices.

In my opinion, there are some factors that affect btc price drops rapidly. The first is strong competition from other new issued coins. The second factor is social media.Recently, facebook and google declared to ban any advertisement about bitcoin. This condition brings high impact on price fluctuation in the market. That is bad news for bitcoin.

Its because all investors pull out their investment in bitcoin because of an issue of it they think negative about crypto and most of investors believe it so the negativity of them are spreading right now and new investors are affected because of that issues.

the big issue issues raised by the people to make a profit is one of the reasons why the price of the bitcoin decreases so I think the issue of now is an important role why bitcoin prices are decreasing

Bitcoin prices always fluctuate in the market, and now many people do not want to invest in the market anymore, besides they participate in the bonus campaign to avoid the risk, I think that Bitcoin is now He recovered and received more social attention, in which Bitcoin was also the king of the currency and could not have other currencies crossed.

as many investors panicked and sold their assets. and this affects other investors and they panic then sell their assets. perhaps the main factor is the spread of issues about the bitcoin being criticized by google and some social media.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?
Conversely, a growing number of new altcoin types may affect bitcoin prices to increase, since altcoin values will not be valuable if they can not be converted into bitcoins in the market. the market movement of cryptocurrency is very sensitive to the many issues related to the restrictions that may affect investors' confidence to feel hesitant to invest in bitcoin, one of which there is news Google will ban advertising sprung up about cryptocurrency. maybe that could cause bitcoin prices to decrease.
Panic selling which is being done by most of the investors especially the newbies and the decrease in the demand of the bitcoin in the international market are the two major things which are playing a key role in this much decline of the market value of the bitcoin since past few weeks. Things will be fine but that will surely take time and till that time, we have to remain patient.

Hopefully the price will soon bitcoin normal again.
with respect to all the bans against bitcoin has affected prices cannot be predicted by us, all predictions have been destroyed since most news sites and countries which prohibit
While we will all like that the price of bitcoin returns to its previous levels as soon as possible we have no control over it, we need to find a way to try to deal with the current market conditions and still secure profits in the future and there is no other way that I can think of, and that is to hold for the long term, I know that means that you need to endure short term losses but at the end you'll get long term profits.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?
Nope ,but its because bitcoin is losing power .  Increasing number of altcoins does not affect the price of bitcoin but rather all altcoins price is depending on bitcoin.
I think you have a point there mate because seeing the price coinmarket capitalization,we could see that when Bitcoins value becomes red almost all altcoins also turn red.I just thought that altcoins we're affected and also dependent on the price of bitcoin, when bitcoins movements in the market slows down so as altcoins.Another thing that I see why price of bitcoin rapidly going down maybe most people or holders worried about the banning issue in some countries and the banning of big companies like Google, facebook, even Twitter and Snapchat threatens them.I could see this would be a big impact to Bitcoin community because social media sites and search engine like Google contributed alot in the increasing of the population of bitcoiners around the world.Hopefully this Google banning issue would stop and hope this is not permanent.

I also think like you, with more altcoin will cause a decrease in interest in bitcoin. With more and more coin options, people will share their investments in other digital currencies. In addition, the ban on government use of bitcoin and negative news about bitcoin also affects the reduction of bitcoin price. So this will affect the confidence of bitcoin, so the bitcoin price continues to decline.
If altcoins sprouts like mushrooms in the market and most   are become successful it couldn't have been the price of bitcoins getting low. Because if altcoins are successful bitcoin price will also  increase because of demands because as we know all altcoins will be valuable if it is converted to bitcoin.
In the lasted year, it was known to everyone that Bitcoins and altcoins are reciprocal to each other.  But now, things are getting better in this domain. Right now, prices of Bitcoins and altcoins are in parallel and getting in resonance. Since the prices are down now, you are strongly recommended to get into the game and hit the mark by buying at lowest possible value. Good luck.

Whenever prices are higher, the next month or the next few months will be the downfall of bitcoins. There are so many reasons behind it. We have been listening and reading to so many causes. Some says it is all about demand and supply rule, some says this is just because of the panic selling, some says it is because the bitcoins are going to dead. So defend opinions are coming at same time.

Like everyone predicted initially, the Bitcoin was in a bubble and the price was growing so rapidly that it had to fall and settle down.
During the transition phase in 2017, a lot of money was being pumped into Bitcoin and hence we were seeing its value rise on a daily basis. The trend attracted a lot of people and they were just pumping their money into this coin. Eventually, the trend died and people started withdrawing their money. Those who made good profits are living off them while the ones who lost money are disappointed for obvious reasons.
This has resulted in a loss of trade volume on the exchange portals. Most of the exchanges have reported a loss in volume of about 90% compared to the December 2017 levels.
The people are scared to enter this market because of the extreme volatility. More trust needs to be built before people will start pouring money  again.

Nope its because government are trying to minimize bitcoin which it can affect the prices of the market. Facebook and google are doing the ban as well and that can affect also the prices
Indeed I think because of government as you can remember last year China has been ban the exchanger and same for Korea. I guess we doesn't feel it yet before then as the 2018 arrive we are now experiencing the effect of this issue last year. And add more scammers that makes bitcoin notorious that's why facebook and google banned it.

For me the negative issues coming from the social medias can affect the price of bitcoin and causes of rapidly going down the bitcoin price. It can affect also to the investors to stop invest in bitcoin because of that negative issues and the supply and demand are affected with the reduce of institutional investors.

this may be a factor of the impact facebook to ban crypto ads. but I see in terms of panic sales due to the drop in bitcoin prices, we can see in the market, a lot of which sell bitcoin than those who buy it. as we know, the high price depends on how buyers are interested in buying. but this is just an assumption from me, I also hope the bitcoin back stable again.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?
It's because many users want to cash out their shares as they really want money and some are afraid to have a great losses as they want to cut off their losses. Well, each users have their own prerogative rights and decisions which will able to do but somehow we can't even control the downfalls of bitcoin rapidly. As we know bitcoin is so unpredictable that can be suddenly increase as well as decrease but I believe it will recover soon in the future.
