Guys PLEASE NUMBER!

Has someone done this yet?

Most funny thread on EVERY forum.

I'll start :O

1. When you know the core, memory, sp, codename, etc, of every AMD card by heart.

2. When your Asian friend says he uses PPS to watch videos at home and you think "Pay-Per-Share".

3. When you go the Sahara Desert and say "Psh..my room's hotter than this lol".

4. When you check your miners every 30 seconds to make sure they didn't lock up or are getting connection errors.

I'll think of more later.

When you bid on every single Radeon 5850 on ebay and then realise you've already spent this months wages on 5850's.

When you've got two big piles of 5850 boxes, half empty and half waiting to go into the next rig.

When you no longer need heating for your house but infact need air conditioning.

When you go to the store and think about how much everything costs in bitcoins and how long it would take for you to 'earn' that chocolate / bag / shirt.

You know you're a bitcoin miner when...

  • The guy on the Harley asks you to turn down the noise cause he can't hear his bike..
  • Your best bet to pay the electricity bill is making it flip past 999999.9KWh
  • Your water-cooled masterpiece provides central heating for half the neighborhood
  • Thom Beers wants you to  star in "COINZ" the reality docu-soap
  • The exchange rate on mtgox must go up by atleast $5 by afternoon or 'Big Louie' will break your legs for failing to pay off the loan on your rigs

i think that's all i got for now  Grin

so I guess that even includes CPU mining? meh, that's not a real miner
I guess even fakeminer counts by your definition, it's a little slower than CPU mining, but it doesn't use any computer resources

100. You need to find out how to block DDoS attacks by other miners (and pools).
101. You need a 10Gbit/sec pipe to your home so that it can act as a backup DC for your pool servers.

104. You start looking for really cold countries to setup an outdoor air cooled mining facility.
105. You really do wonder which countries match the criteria for 103 and 104, and which would be the cheapest factoring in PUE.
106. You wonder if a nearby lake could act as a heat sink, but are still a bit concerned about possibly slow cooking all the fish alive.
107. You wonder how you can turn heat into an additional revenue stream. And begin by googling Low-temperature cooking and Sous-vide.
108. You wonder if you could ever mass market electric Bitcoin radiators.
109. You wonder if you have said too much about your addiction by taking part in this thread.

to expand on my previous point:
McLaren Technology Center: (from wikipedia)
Quote
The building is accompanied by a series of artificial lakes: one formal lake directly opposite that completes the circle of the building, and a further four 'ecology' lakes. Together they contain about 50,000 m³ of water. This water is pumped through a series of heat exchangers to cool the building and to dissipate the heat produced by the wind tunnels...

A 145 metre long, rectangular-circuit shaped wind tunnel is located at one end of the building. Team McLaren uses it for testing development aerodynamic parts, as well as testing aerodynamic set-ups. The tunnel contains 400 tonnes of steel and the air is propelled by a four metre wide fan that rotates at up to 600 rpm.

How cool would my rigs run if they were cooled by a 4 meter fan at 600 RPM?

111. When you build your own mining rig powered hot-tub so you can relax after a stressful day of watching the price of BTC swing up and down.

Wow that's a great idea - an outdoor hot-tub and water-cool all your rigs with the hot-tub water, pipe it in from outside!

Big time, I'm on my way I'm making it, big time, oh yes
