Mining is plenty profitable.. I am making about 220 or so EGEM every 24h.. Not bad imo.
Honestly, with 750Mo/s Ethash, I have more stables incomes with ETC or DBX or even WHL. Depending on difficulty, I can have 500 or 900 EGEM a day, so if it is 900, it is profitable, but as for 500, no way  Cry

Just stick to what YOU know and YOUR intentions please  Undecided. My intentions here are to support an ALT coin but not if it costs me money. I have electricity fees for now, and I just thought that difficulty could be more stable, that's all.
I invested money in hardware and I am not Dalï Lama, like any miner: I agree to earn LESS with EGEM but not that much and that's my point...
And sorry, I was just opening the debate about POW vs all other algos when mining isn't profitable, then who will mine ... I am no dev or PhD, but I just do the maths.
Maybe you know something about this concern thatI ignore and could be helpfull?

You can join Egem's Discord and have a talk with Devs about profit, difficulty and other questions about the coin.

How to sign/set up for a Quarry node

1) Make an egem wallet using https://myegemwallet.com/ or using the windows opal wallet https://github.com/TeamEGEM/Opal-Wallet

2) Ensure the wallet contains 10k EGEM and not to go below that number

3) sign up for a hosting service like Vulr or Linode Linode TEAMEGEM referral https://www.linode.com/?r=0543b2c292a0dcae51ac3fea3d7f170d956565c3 Vultr TEAMEGEM referral https://www.vultr.com/?ref=7408289 Using those above helps support the network costs to the team.

4) follow this guide https://forum.egem.io/topic/15/install-egem-node its best to use option 1 with a swap

5) on EGEM discord head to #the-egem-bot channel (if no access type @Admin I need access) type in the following first /botreg (egem address from step 1 here)

6) locate the server IP on the hosting website type following in #the-egem-bot channel /changeip1 <ip> From here you must wait for the chain to sync before your first node is setup. An admin/coredev would need to turn on the earnings

I think the chain is a network ethereum EtherGem block, which means it starts with the core technology has been tested and proven (as in ETH) and build from there. The sidechain Egem are designed to have very much part of the development is an indispensable continuous chain that colleagues can implement new technologies while continuing to rely on a solid foundation. The sidechain and tokens will be available shortly after the release mainnet.
