As I have observe, Ethereum was always at rank #2 in coinmarketcap.com. While in rank #1 is bitcoin. In this days, almost ICO's that launched uses ethereum, Ethereum gained a massive popularity in crypto world. Does ethereum gonna take the spot of bitcoin? is it possible?
impossible. popular for the use of ico platform is not an indicator to be the best. now i want to ask you, is all the ico is running well? |

Ethereum really become popular and widely used by everyone in crypto world. But let’s don’t forget about BTC popularity. It cannot be explained by it’s high price and huge flow of new people in crypto world who knows info only about BTC and are confident only in it.

Its possible. Its just like USD that its always the counter currency like EUR/USD. BTC is always the counter currency but if later in fact today we can see ETH being the counter currency of some pair. If ETH will become popular than BTC it can be on top and if one day ETH will be valuable than BTC, it can happen but right not I don't think it can beat BTC price.

It will, eth is compete with bitcoin in popularity and in demand so definitely eth will surpassed btc in near future but I think its difficult to surpassed bitcoin now because bitcoin gaining popular even the issues and all odds may come so it takes time and effort to surpassed bitcoin in near future or in ranking.

Ethereum is indeed popular but its popularity has not made them a big threat to Bitcoin supremacy, even one-day Ethereum have not surpassed Bitcoin and I doubt in the next 2 years they are going to accomplish that while Bitcoin is getting a lot of attention worldwide. |

This is difficult for Ethereum because there is a lot of negative information about it coming up, if the information is confirmed to be true then maybe Ethereum will end here. Many ICO projects are eliminating Ethereum and developing on other platforms such as ADA, NEO, and XLM and this has a great impact on Ethereum that has made it go down dramatically. |

dONT think as Botcoin is first and it becomes gold in cryptoworld so peolpe who decide keep money will keep them as Bitcoin and others who will send or do yrasnactions will keep others more mast.

The "flippening" will never happen.
Ironically ,ICOs are the undoing of ETH: they expose it to regulations and exert selling pressure on it.
Sad, but very true. Eth gained its price from icos but now they are taking it away, because a lot of icos are scamming people and eventually trust to the platform that enables it decreases. However, I don't think eth is worth to be #1. Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency and making something equal in terms of innovation is hard. Theymos once made a list and and eth the innovative potential of 5 points or something, but he said that bitcoin would've got like a 100 in the list. Moreover, eth is too insecure to be in the top. |

Ethereum although good coin and it has so much value and future. But I don't think it will overcome bitcoin. Bitcoin market is so big, and much better than ethereum. Maximum people fully trust bitcoin, but some people are not believe in ethereum. |

Well i don't think so that it will ever happen because demand of bitcoins is just too high and bitcoins is the most important coin in the market almost every coins price somewhat depends upon bitcoins.Etheruem is a great platform for ICOs but certainly can't beat bitcoins.But it sure does has potential to grow more.

No. It is true that ETH had gained a lot of popularity and so as the demand due to ICOs who use its platform to create their token but let's not forget that BTC is far more different and functions as something else. BTC's title as the king of all crytos will not be taken down by just a coin that enables smart contracts. Ethereum has been the closest competitor of bitcoin. It has also been known to be the next coin to dominate in the global market. It has the potential and power to lead. But I think, if it can beat bitcoin it would take so much time before it can take over its place. Practically, bitcoin is still undisputed, but possible to be defeated in the nearer future. What is important is that we sincerely work hard for our success and compete with ourselves for the welfare of our nation. |

Based on the current price of ethereum which dramatically fallen from the past weeks,it doesnt have good chance for now because its price wasnt recovered from the bloodbaths tha we have a week ago.So it means today ethereum has less chance to get into bitcoin's posititon but if you ask me which coin could replace bitcoin it would be the same,its ethereum because it is the most commonly used platforms in our community.

It is possible because in this life nothing is impossible! Bitcoin and ethereum are to serve different purposes and each is to compliment one another base on the need of the people. I always see bitcoin as a money market and ethereum represent the capital markets. I don't think that both ethereum and bitcoin are into competition of the one to be in the 1St spot on coinmarketcap but to create a new technology that we would all benefit from. |
