Hello fellow community members,

Recently I saw lots of people announcing new altcoins. They're planning to launch ICO soon. But I was wondering if we should invest in ICO with proven business which will reduce the risk of our investment or go big with ICO project that we believe in but it starts from zero?

The trend of ICO is everywhere and lots of SCAMS is happening. Therefore, viewing ICO from risk management perspective is also important. What do you guys think?

I say no to whitepaper.  If they have a business already that could be a good thing, but not necessarily.  The key for me is a strong team, a strong concept, and and a solid plan and road-map to execute on the plan.

The ICO that has provided proof of success and success in its business is the ICO to be followed, investors are more interested in the already successful ICO no fear of losing when wanting to invest.

proven business is obviously safer. But one with non-proven business has more room to grow, as you're basically investing from the ground up. Its pick your poison: higher return for high risk investment, or lower return for lower-risk investment.

The good thing about ICO is that everyone can participate. Even people who have limited resources will have the opportunity to invest in any ICO.

Many people will choose ICO with a proven business because it seems more reliable. I think that in most cases it is. But there are good ideas for new projects that can bring a very good income without any business at all.

Of course, projects that already have a ready product and working infrastructure cause more confidence among investors than those that are just beginning to offer their new idea. But we can't be sure that after ICO such projects will continue to develop and they will not be a scam. After all, such examples exist. As well as there are examples of new, unknown projects that subsequently showed themselves well. I'm still looking at the team first.

It is better, of course, to invest in a project that already has a working product that has demand and popularity, which has a prospect in the future.
But also there is a chance to find a project that is just beginning to develop, which is ready to offer investors a good idea, a team, great plans for the future and which in the future can "shoot."

When you invest in a project closely related to a real operating business, then you can not expect huge profits, since this business already has some profitability and is unlikely to be much higher than the average market. But such investments are reliable. I think that huge profits can be obtained only from investments in projects "from zero."

I couldn’t find any competitors for project Vreo.io, do you know of any? They are doing dynamic in-game advertising. They are going to create marketplace for developers and advertisers. It will secured by blockchain technology. Moreover, the interests of all parties are taken into account. Developers of small games can attract investments and create high-quality products, for advertisers this project will be useful due to the expansion of advertising opportunities and selected target audience, and gamers will be able to receive quality products cheaper, besides they also receive income from the ads they watched, without interrupting the gameplay. It seems the product meets the gaming and advertising industries' needs. Here is their link at bitcointalk https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2886707

It really depends on what you are looking for. Investments are are gamble no matter how you look at. ICOs with a proven business is good because there's is a track record and there is verifiability - so it is safer. However investments starting with little or nothing are called wild cards, and form experience the people who get in early on the act reap the best rewards, take bitcoin for a classic example. But yes there is a huge risk of the project failing, also nowadays we have the issues of scams. But now, "what if" the wild card project was somehow in the same industry in the "proven business" and the new project had the potential to make the old project obsolete? Then it becomes interesting... Decisions decisions. For such decisions I'll advise spreading your investment 70% - 30% on which you feel more drawn to.

It's a great reminder. Based on my research, I found that most of the companies who have a running product, they'll do ICO firstly to get more fund, second of all they will use tokens to support the cycle of their running product. For example, moviechain.io, they do ICO and release their own token so that people can easily purchase movies in the MovieChain ecosystem and with the existence of token, it helps the company to provide an incentive to the users as well.

What do you think?

Are you fascinated with  cryptocurrency mining?  Here is your chance. Marinecoin is the first miner-less DEV-less coin. It penalize the pro miners with dynamic hashing algorithm and guarantees that you can mine up to 1000 MTC per day in your own Window or Mac PC by just downloading the wallet software. Marinecoin is time tested coin with self sustaining network managed by artificial intelligence. Better than that, you can join the AI driven airdrop program and earn 20,000 MTC by simply posting a message! Why should we reward environmentally damaging miners?  In stead, Marinecoin rewards average people with  fair distribution for Proof of Promotion (POP) work.

Hi Man, It's ok to promote things that you are passionate about. But at least respect the topic of this thread. Contribute your opinion and interact with other community members. Spamming & only care for promotional is a selfish thing to do man. I know you better than that  Wink

I pick ICO with proven business because they have the experience how to manage a project properly and they know the risk that they will encounter in the business industry.

At the and it depends on the amount of risk that you want to take, a coin that has a products ready or that is close it is going to attract a lot more money but this means that the profits in the future will be lower, a project that still has nothing to show for is a lot riskier but if you are able to select the right coin then the possibility of earning a fortune becomes very real.
