Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

good article and some great tips we all can learn from.
Its true that its mostly newbies who are going to get scammed quicker,
they need to learn about the likes of Pump-N-Dump schemes and HYIP sites also.
Scammers are devising really convincing ways to trap people from Phone calls, e-mails and crypto scams.

This kind of topic will surely help lots of people not just the newbie because the topic is how to keep yourself protected as we all know keep our earnings safe and sound. In my own opinion about how to protect ourselves from scam is to being aware of all what you do in that case it's on us if we go with the flow but if you're aware and that will lead you to curiousity and what you do next is to investigate about what that person is trying to do if he/she scams or not and that's how you protect yourself to not take risk in the crypto that you just investigate and found something fishy. That topic provided is also another way to protect ourselves so the only thing pop's on my braincells is it depends on us and our knowledge about crypto on keeping ourselves protected.

If you share these kind articles on begginers and help section that will be helpful many newbies bro. Because of ICO and bounties itself there are many investors got scammed as so far. We do not find the market always true to all the people.
Hence we need to use these kind of stretegy you have shared with this article. Hopefully this will helpful among large volume of people.

So many laudatory reviews, I am very surprised at this. The article describes several ways to protect yourself from fraud (the Internet is full of content on this topic). But the main point of the article is advertising "BLUE wallet" and nothing more. Let's be real friends!

We can keep ourself protected from crypto scams by Password protection, Phishing, 2 Factor Authentication, Digital asset storage.

Join an exchange which is well known and existing from some years now. Also 2 FA is the must and compulsory. Keep changing password frequently so that you do not keep the same password for very long. Also activate google authorization if the function is available.

The article are really helpful and I think we should be more careful in terms of giving our information. A lot of scams here in social sites so if you don't make extra effort to protect especially your wallet and exchange account your money will lose. Also careful on joining some scams ICO so you will not waste time participating on that.

Thanks a lot for posting this. This helps a lot in avoiding these scams and hackers...These days I noticed theres a lot of hacking incidents happening not only to newbies but to all crypto enthusiast. All we can do is to keep safe all our accounts and emails by using 2fa, strong PW and avoiding phising sites.

I couldn’t find any competitors for project Vreo.io, do you know of any? They are doing dynamic in-game advertising. They are going to create marketplace for developers and advertisers. It will secured by blockchain technology. Moreover, the interests of all parties are taken into account. Developers of small games can attract investments and create high-quality products, for advertisers this project will be useful due to the expansion of advertising opportunities and selected target audience, and gamers will be able to receive quality products cheaper, besides they also receive income from the ads they watched, without interrupting the gameplay. It seems the product meets the gaming and advertising industries' needs. Here is their link at bitcointalk https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2886707

It is not stated that it is better to have a computer or any device that are only meant for doing cryptocurrency related things. Let me add this thing up. It is better to have that kind of device in order for you to avoid any viruses and for you to avoid clicking on phishing links. And also having an e-mail account that is not related or linked to your social media accounts is also pretty good strategy for protecting not just your account but also yourself.

Why would you put this here?) Is the theme "what ICQ is better"? Here there could share this and to know whether the attention of the project AI no! Why clutter up the subject ?)We are talking here about security) Let's stick to this topic)) And the article which was published in the first post, really good for beginners!

For keeping yourself secure from scams you have to take some strategy, you can use password or you can go for digital asset storage, also. Just you have to be bit careful so nothing can make you failure.

Good article though. I have an experience in being cheated by a scam. I am sure everyone might be aware of the guy who came in December 2018 with a campaign "C". A very bad experience. Thanks god that none invested in. We were asked to invest minimum $50 in 'C'. Address was provided. Everyone was disappointed on X-Mas and on New Year eve. Thanks god he did not prolong it with his lovely tricky words. Though we are aware of scams and share experience how to identify a scam, we still get caught. Need to be so pro-active.

I advise you to be careful with the free distribution of coins (Air Drops). Very often this is fraud.

The only way to protect it is to not let anybody know your password or just simply write it on a piece of paper and hide it on a vault. And if you are familiar with the new way to protect with your password it is the 2FA verification and then make sure your password contains with mixed of capital and small letters with numbers in it to make sure it is stronger than your previous password. But make sure you are using a safe computer before logging in to avoid any phishing attacks, just install any antivirus, it will protect you from being phished.

One short tip I can give aside from what's listed inside is, when you fell suspicious on the transaction and smell something is fishy on the project, group or individual then turn down the offer as early as possible.

You cannot find the person fishy as it is mate. You need to have a proof or the review from the previous user of the concern project or website. For this I have found the website called badbitcoin.org/badlist
Here you can find the n number of websites which has been scammed the people through out this world.
After I suggest some services which are all mostly being scammy one. cloud and browser mining, mining equipment reseller site, doubling website, casinos and sports betting website as well. Please read the website details before you join any of these projects.

one of the most effective ways to protect us from fraud is we must be able to keep passwords do not leak and passwords that do not only use numbers or letters only if we can make numbers and letters one and we do not easily believe about token offer for free because maybe it is a fraud. basically in this cryptocuerreny world we have to be careful.

Recommended is really for everyone not just for those who are new to the crypto world but for those who have long been in the world crypto sometimes love to forget things like this because they feel it is the most true, yes once again good, if that have read try to further dig again in order to avoid something called fraud, but actually articles are common to me but do not know for them, yes more diligent again to dig important information like this do not be lazy to search not just want to post and add activities only .

I think the best way to avoid scam is too invest with a very low amount of money. The amount should just value for a single meal or or just a transportation fare for you to get home. Because you will use it to gain experience in determining scams and you can now protect yourself after that.

Scammer is always a scammer and its very difficult to recognized them, to minimize the failure of joining in any investment platform is to study and research regarding their programs and their capability and by investing the amount that you are able to loss just in case you entered in wrong investment.

In order to protect yourself from crypto scam, always be vigilant and never trust anyone on the internet.  If something seems too good to be true, it’s usually a scam.  Don’t send your hard earned cryptocurrency to anyone over the internet. Even if the account claiming to give you free coins is the real account of the social influencer or crypto figure, you can’t discount the possibility that their account may be compromised by a hacker.

Before investing in any ICO project, or buying any coin or token, I take my careful time studying the project and making sure it have good value and potential, and only after doing this I invest or buy.
This way I minimize the risks of lossing because I select the most promising coins and tokens which generally reach some level of success.

Here are my own ways that I would like to share
1. I do not show my face like linking this bitcointalk account to any of my personal accounts
2. I always log out my accounts and log in later if I am going to use it.
why because any personal information can be used from any of my accounts for a scammer may talk to me and do a talk with to make me invest on things that is fake or that is created my the scammer.

Password and 2FA are to protect you from hackers , scammer targeting greedy people who looking for an instant profit , then offering you something too good to be true service , that time you should be careful and curious what exactly the service they are offering.
The more greedy you are , the more vulnerable you are to get scammed.

Only you can keep your self protected from crypto scams, only your experience and knowledge. Be smart.
Experiences from others does also help. Fast track.
By clicking the link, I've been looking for only one type of popular scamming strategy nowadays. This has been done through those people who loves to follow famous people and loves to stick with altcoins and good to see that it's listed as social media phishing. People are so greedy and gullible nowadays that they will receive something in return and even doubled or tripled in value after sending their donation to the posted address on the fake account on twitter.

The motive for profit, or greed, is the motive that makes people easily deceived.
re-con artists will usually use this "cool button" to make somebody out of logical work. People began to wish and hope. That's when the logic function is stopped. Here, people are more driven by the desire to win, the lust for easy profit, the lust of getting rich quickly. And that's what makes someone so dark eyes.

In fact, if we use logic and common sense, we should be able to think simply, that something too good to be true, should be suspected.

Even the site provided in the OP can help you to some extent, I believe that still you cannot be 100% sure about anything as there is always 1% chance of losing your money due to any reason as future is not in our hand. One can only try to be 100% secure and rest leave to future. You might read a project that seems very beneficial and many people are investing and it get good reputation in the market also, but what if all of a sudden it crashes like Bitconnect. So, crypto is full of risk so if you invest be ready for any outcome.

good article and some great tips we all can learn from.
Its true that its mostly newbies who are going to get scammed quicker,
they need to learn about the likes of Pump-N-Dump schemes and HYIP sites also.
Scammers are devising really convincing ways to trap people from Phone calls, e-mails and crypto scams.

Thanks for posting this!
And the reason the newbies are the ones that fall the most in those scams is not just because they're newbies is because they are investing for the wrong reasons, they see the examples of people that became rich with cryptocurrencies and they want to emulate their success not thinking that they are the exception and while there is a lot of money to be made you need to be constant and you need to be patient.

In short most of them do hurry to become rich which they do see those successful person do make easy things for them to achieve those situation which it isnt really right at all.It would takes time and patience for you to achieve such manner and come to think of you would need to put up money to earn money. Theres no easy get quick rich scheme on here.

Talking back about protecting yourself from scams. If you just starting up then better read up feedbacks and suggestions which will really give you idea and later on your experience will teach you gradually along the way.

Protecting yourself from scams will depend entirely on the type of investor that you are, if you are only investing bitcoin and you keep all your coins in a paper wallet then the chance of being scammed are very close to zero, but if you are the kind of investor that likes to take some risks and to invest in some icos or new altcoins then the chance of being scammed once in a while goes a lot higher.

Beware of Suspicious Links. Do not be easily fooled by unknown or suspicious links. Because in your email there must be a lot of Bitcoin offers from some popular Bitcoin services that advise you to visit a WEB site, which where there will use information from your Bitcoin purse.

In addition to the ways you share on the Medium, I think it is essential to avoid a cryptos scam project that requires you to have much knowledge about this market and read about case studies on fraudulent ICO projects. Moreover, especially about your security knowledge, you have to be stubborn because so many of the bounty managers are using your trust to steal the cryptos. So be very careful when transferring cryptos to strangers and entering private keys in unreliable websites.

I'm trying not to participate in fake projects. I'm checking and measuring security. Use secure wallets. I'm using a virus program. and I did not disrupt this care. I keep away from fake sites. I'm trying not to take any steps I do not trust.

Scammers do always target newbie minds in any places or industry which they do evolve and really try their best to be legit into those eyes of newbie investors and we do know on our first investment we are somehow greedy which scammers do really use that weakness to drag us up to easily. If we do really like to avoid scams then better to read up things and become knowledgeable into any informations into this forum for sure you will learn a lot and once your awareness to scams is opened you will able to spot out easily which is scam or not.

Beware of Suspicious Links. Do not be easily fooled by unknown or suspicious links. Because in your email there must be a lot of Bitcoin offers from some popular Bitcoin services that advise you to visit a WEB site, which where there will use information from your Bitcoin purse.
This is probably one of the most important things to avoid, once you begin to earn money with cryptocurrencies you need to change the habits that you have when you're surfing the web, most of the time a hacker will not get any kind of valuable information out of you, but if you are holding bitcoin in your computer then the hacker can easily steal everything that you have with just some clicks.

The way to protect yourself against ICO scams is to join the ICO's commitment to ensuring there are no risks to the investor. At present, ICO Dehedge is an ICO that meets the criteria of risk commitment for investors. They pledged to ensure the exchange rate after the index will not be lower than at the time of the ICO, which would hedge the risk to investors when investing in their ICO project.

Nice article it's simple but direct to the point as those being mentioned are the weakness of being new in crypto currency, password hacking and phishing attacks are top most. We should be aware and spread this article to all the crypto enthusiast and let's all safe from those scammers.

I've fallen victim to a couple of HYIP scams and Ponzi schemes in the past and all because I was blinded into making quick cash. Well there is no such thing and have learned it the hard way. It's a good thing that we have people like you sharing their knowledge for the newbies.

I would better study the details of the ICO, their projects, team members details,  their infrastructure  and the amount of money they have all allocated for their marketing and etc. The details would certainly protect you from crypto scams. There are the main things to look at to save or make us be aware of scams.

We have to be aware of crypto scams and have to secure all our assets that are in the crypto to be wary of fraud, but the criminals still have thousands of ways to deceive us especially in the crypto world that works only online face-to-face instantly.

For cryptocurrency investors who want to take advantage of new investment opportunities by keeping them safe from cryptocurrency fraud amda can try a few things among them Know well the team / management behind it For that reason, more and more often fraudsters use fake profiles / biographies on the development team for their projects.

Researching About the project team is the gokd way to identify the scam ICOs because lot of scam ICO reams are giving fake details about then so if we can do some deep research then it will be easy to pick them. But still there is no way that cam save us from scam ICOs absolutely that is why ICO investment are much riskier.

To prevent yourself from becoming game to these ICO scammers, always double check the ICO contribution address with multiple sources.  When the ICO starts, make sure to check the contribution address on the official website, along with the pinned message on Telegram, and the latest Twitter feed from the company’s official Twitter.  Never blindly trust messages that are being spammed in the Telegram channel claiming to be the official contribution address.  Also, never give in to solicitation on Telegram or through e-mail from people that may look like an admin or support team member.
