good article and some great tips we all can learn from.
Its true that its mostly newbies who are going to get scammed quicker,
they need to learn about the likes of Pump-N-Dump schemes and HYIP sites also.
Scammers are devising really convincing ways to trap people from Phone calls, e-mails and crypto scams.

Thanks for posting this!
And the reason the newbies are the ones that fall the most in those scams is not just because they're newbies is because they are investing for the wrong reasons, they see the examples of people that became rich with cryptocurrencies and they want to emulate their success not thinking that they are the exception and while there is a lot of money to be made you need to be constant and you need to be patient.
In short most of them do hurry to become rich which they do see those successful person do make easy things for them to achieve those situation which it isnt really right at all.It would takes time and patience for you to achieve such manner and come to think of you would need to put up money to earn money. Theres no easy get quick rich scheme on here.

Talking back about protecting yourself from scams. If you just starting up then better read up feedbacks and suggestions which will really give you idea and later on your experience will teach you gradually along the way.
Protecting yourself from scams will depend entirely on the type of investor that you are, if you are only investing bitcoin and you keep all your coins in a paper wallet then the chance of being scammed are very close to zero, but if you are the kind of investor that likes to take some risks and to invest in some icos or new altcoins then the chance of being scammed once in a while goes a lot higher.

Don't trust also any advertisements coming from someone you don't know, if someone add you in telegram group for airdrop and free items and you don't know about it then keep safe by leaving the group immediately.

Beware of Suspicious Links. Do not be easily fooled by unknown or suspicious links. Because in your email there must be a lot of Bitcoin offers from some popular Bitcoin services that advise you to visit a WEB site, which where there will use information from your Bitcoin purse.

In addition to the ways you share on the Medium, I think it is essential to avoid a cryptos scam project that requires you to have much knowledge about this market and read about case studies on fraudulent ICO projects. Moreover, especially about your security knowledge, you have to be stubborn because so many of the bounty managers are using your trust to steal the cryptos. So be very careful when transferring cryptos to strangers and entering private keys in unreliable websites.

I'm trying not to participate in fake projects. I'm checking and measuring security. Use secure wallets. I'm using a virus program. and I did not disrupt this care. I keep away from fake sites. I'm trying not to take any steps I do not trust.

This is probably one of the most important things to avoid, once you begin to earn money with cryptocurrencies you need to change the habits that you have when you're surfing the web, most of the time a hacker will not get any kind of valuable information out of you, but if you are holding bitcoin in your computer then the hacker can easily steal everything that you have with just some clicks.

The way to protect yourself against ICO scams is to join the ICO's commitment to ensuring there are no risks to the investor. At present, ICO Dehedge is an ICO that meets the criteria of risk commitment for investors. They pledged to ensure the exchange rate after the index will not be lower than at the time of the ICO, which would hedge the risk to investors when investing in their ICO project.

Nice article it's simple but direct to the point as those being mentioned are the weakness of being new in crypto currency, password hacking and phishing attacks are top most. We should be aware and spread this article to all the crypto enthusiast and let's all safe from those scammers.
