I'm considering to buy and hold some privacy coins for long term. I read some articles and they said governments are taking harsh stances on privacy coins. Do you think they will ban all privacy cryptocurrencies by prohibiting exchanges to list those coins?
With the steady development of blockchain technology, many governments are acquiescing and admitting the legality of cryptocurrencies, please don't worry too much.

I think that of course governments of different countries dream about and do their best in order to controll and manage the processes on the crypto market. And of course partly it is more sure that it will be so, at least in the nearest future. But the popularity of the Blockchain becone more popular in the society, because people see all the bonuses of the implementation of the Blockchain technologies everywhere. So in my opinion some day we or our children will see the real success of the Blockchain and the crypto.

lol they cannot control privacy coins that the point of them to be a privacy coin.
They are all against the regulations and used for some illegal activities.
I love privacy coins cause of crypto anarchy. I hope they will grow more and more.

This is the main issues among the many economy and their Govt. that whether they ban the cryptocurrency completely or partially. But, in both the way there will be no effect in the transactions internationally because Bitcoin is a decentralized and anonymous way of transaction and so many cryptocurrencies are. Still there is in the way of decision taking process for most of the developing countries. If the crypto currency will ban then the illegal transaction will increase and nobody can't track this. So, Govt. need to take decision seriously.

Fortunately, the silt may be the opposite, someone will regret it, but they simply cannot do anything if they legalize cryptocurrencies and recognize them as valuable. It will be a long-awaited victory.

only privacy crypto ? what about those who arent private like eth and btc ? do will they allow it ?   private or not , both coins can still be used for illegal purposes and smart criminals wont ever be traced  . im not really sure if that is the reason on why they would ban crypto  .

what if they ban crypto because they think that cryptos were a threat to fiats  ?  anyway  . most countries nowadays are already legalizing the use of cryptos , so its not really a big deal if some will do the opposite  .

Government will Ban cryptocurrency because transactions via cryptocurrency are very difficult to trace out and it can be easily used for illegal trade (such as drugs, arms etc.) and payments. So you can buy tokens and follow up the situation, in case if the government start to prohibit, you will be able to sell tokens quickly with minimal losses.

I do not think that governments will take this step, and even if they want to ban such coins, it will only cause a higher demand for these coins, so I think that in this matter there is nothing to worry about.

Is it technically possible? I thought the main advantage of all private cryptocurrencies was the inability to block them and track actions within the network. Didn't I?

have you guys checked the new generation privacy coins?
Examples like Grin, Beam and Veil, that offer different structure and assurances concerning your privacy and anonimity...
you can choose the privacy level you want to, and in case of Beam, for example, they are working on auditability... and have the possibility to become compliant and private at the same time...

When we would reach the mass adoption, they would not have any chance to leave them, because they will need to get taxes from crypto currencies. Governments will accept cryptos, but will eliminate private currencies for sure.

From what i think i suppose even if the government do that they will not be able to fully stop the trading of certain coins in exchange at the most centralize exchange might get affected but in crypto there is still decentralized exchanges.

IMO, I don’t think it is possible for the governments to ban all privacy coins. It is really difficult to ban all of them. Privacy coins have good potential and I have invested in a couple of privacy coins.

I can’t say or utter that this is generally possible, simply because I don’t see any possibility in this. Today you can officially block something, but to do it in such a rude way. Not. I think that they will not succeed.

I don't think that they care about the privacy cryptocurrencies, but if the government wants to ban cryptos in their country, well they can do that.

I don't thing this isn't about banning the cryptocurrency, but instead of creating regulation on it.
So in the future, crypto will be accepted and all the people will understand about it and will not hesitate in keeping or even utilize it.

I don't think governments will do that, what they really want is taxes from crypto traders and investors. They don't want to lose such huge taxes from crypto market. Regulations they implemented, have plans to implement and proposal to do in the future will aim at final target is tax. It  is my opinion about potential governmental regulations on privacy coins.

Here on my country, the opposite is implemented, they do not ban cryptocurrency thus, even way more extending its capabilities through blockchain adoption of mobile applications and local market payment structures. Well, we are just selling vegetables through cryptocurrency.

Would you mind letting me know that which nation do you live, please.
As I said, what governments want is not ban on privacy coins, what they want is be ale to trace transaction histories as well as total value of transactions from privacy coins.
Their ultimate goals might be taxes can be collected from those privacy coins' exchange over time.

That's correct and I don't see the governments ban privacy coins now or in the future because they didn't have any power over privacy coins, what they can only do is make crypto currency exchange centralized and the last time checked they can't even make exchange site centralized.
