I'm considering to buy and hold some privacy coins for long term. I read some articles and they said governments are taking harsh stances on privacy coins. Do you think they will ban all privacy cryptocurrencies by prohibiting exchanges to list those coins?

This is no longer and issue, the last time I checked, China has cryptocurrency trading under ban but 40+ percent of members of Cryptocurrency ecosystem are from China. Cryptocurency is built to be unstoppable

Many countries are already banning crypto currencies but there is a very little chance that all the government will 100% ban the crypto currencies in the future.

Not all the countries are in the same thinking. As you can see, many are already adopting the crypto currencies compare to the countries that are banning it. Therefore, my conclusion for this scenario is that there is a 0.1% out of 100% that all the governments will ban the crypto currencies. Instead 80 out 100 will adapt the crypto in the future.

I think they can try, but they will fail. Actually, this idea seems to me absolutely foolish, because it is doomed to failure and these government actions will only strengthen the demand for anonymous cryptocurrency on the Internet. This is not beneficial to the governments in the first place and I think they will try to come up with a more cunning way to combat anonymity in the cryptocurrency market

I don't think that they care about the privacy cryptocurrencies, but if the government wants to ban cryptos in their country, well they can do that.
I think that if a government is not interested in even legalizing/regulating cryptocurrency, why would she ban the private crypto when it is already banned/illegal in the country ?

Moreover, no government around the world has actually banned a cryptocurrency but only if it is harmful for the economy. The cases of china and Ecuador are examples here. Only that government pays ample attention to such regulations where coins like Bitcoin are regulated.

In my country, Cryptocurrency is not a problem because it has received permission from the government. Currently, Cryptocurrency in my country is very popular and many people want to benefit from this industry. So, if you want to invest in the long term, the better.

Indeed, every country has its own policy on crypto, but in my government, crypto still has the opportunity to continue to grow so that crypto enthusiasts are increasing.

Who knows, after all, governments are now very seriously studying all the possibilities of the cryptocurrency sphere and are gradually testing various technologies that will help regulate the entire cryptocurrency, so they can do whatever they want, we need to follow the news.

Crypto is a big industry and now many people have developed it. And that investment is what makes many people get big profits. And in my country, Crypto is indeed a problem for the government. But after the government checked a lot and now Crypto is able to run.

Its possible for government to want to ban privacy coins but it could also be a rumour.
So if I were in your shoes, I will go ahead and buy the privacy coins but in smaller quantity and then watch the market.
By the way, cryptocurrency exchanges are not under the control of government ...so technically,
,Banning privacy coins would not be easy.

It seems that every country / government has its own policy on cryptocurrencies. For my country there seems to be no problem for now. And I'm free to hold or invest in an altcoin for the long term. I do not know for sure which countries or governments prohibit cryptocurrencies.

You don't need to be afraid to buy Crypto coins. I don't think there is a problem with the government because Crypto also provides work for Crypto fans. This will be the best decision for you because investing in Crypto will provide future benefits.

Yes, everyone who came out on the rubble will die. Although it all depends on the team. The most important thing was to save the budget. If the team is smart everything will be okay.

Any government is trying to control everything and withdraw its profits from everything. Of course, the government is against such decentralized assets as a cryptocurrency. But it is good that at the moment technologies are developing in such a way that a cryptocurrency can exist and develop without much fear of the government.
Nah, no matter how much they develop, they will always catch you. There are times you would need to make a withdrawal to your bank account and that’s when you will eventually get caught. I know some people do sell to local traders who pays in to their own bank accounts, but till when are you going to continue doing that? So no matter what you will still get caught. So if it’s not legal in your country, you simply stay clear from it to avoid trouble.

I guess nothing is going to happen unlike OP. Even if it will, I don’t see it happening anytime soon. I believe the government are not going to ban cryptocurrency, but there might be an extent it will reach and they might decide to stop it. Cryptocurrency is not really a threat from the way I see it, just some foolish people that decides to make it a threat. If there would be a way to stop all those people, then I believe that things will be alright.

in any case, junk coins will die and this will happen soon. But if the question is about the interest of states in the destruction of cryptocurrency, then such a situation can occur only when they begin to use cryptocurrency en masse in criminal activity.

For long-term investment of this type of coins is certainly not the best that you can think of. After all, they have additional pathogens that can lead to their blocking and depreciation.

It does not benefit anyone. If cryptocurrencies were not popular with rich people, then there would be nothing, no cryptocurrency world that we know today, simply nothing would have happened.

A very serious question personally, I think that governments can prohibit confidential cryptocurrency because they are used to controlling us, and if there are data tokens, there will be much less control.

How the gov'ts can ban privacy coins if all of it are private?
If they ban crypto as a whole then including privacy coins, it will also be banned. If you want to buy privacy coins, just buy it. No one stops you from buying it but you need to know the rules of your country and their stand about crypto.

Mostly China I think and maybe Russia. In other words most democracies will probably not ban cryptocurrencies, but it's hard to predict what the future will look like for sure.
