Sorry mate but I have to disagree with you. Gambling is not an addiction, it is only our self putting into that cage.

It would depend on that person, and if he can control himself in the gambling games, then he should not worry with the addiction. But that will be only a few people who can do that, and the rest of them will get addiction unless they can realize that the addiction will bring them to lose the money. I am sure there will be people who want to stay aware of the gambling games and try to prevent addiction.

I only place bets at a minimal cost. But I do really experience a lot of the consequence you have listed.  Basically, I used to crave of victory and every time I lose, it hurts me and makes me stressed. Ending up making me anxious and guilty from what I did. The "I shouldn't have" thoughts will come to your mind always. My family was bankrupt because of gambling and that is the reason why I don't gamble with higher cost. I only use my extra asset in gambling and guess what? I always lose. But gambling is gambling.

I agreed. Most of what he posted are true manifestation of an addict gambler. The bad and good effects are always associated in gambling. We have to manage those bad effects in order for us not to end up being a useless players. Self control, time management and just spend a little time in playing. Sometimes, being addicted will ruined family's relationship.

True, even in some cases of addiction, addicts don't even care about the side effects they made. Addicts no longer feel responsible for their family and closest people. So in my eyes, sporting betting is also include in gambling.

Of course its gambling because the risk is variable with quite unknown odds still but its a game with observable factors, I think its more justifiable to place a bet on a game or sport then relying on completely unknown odds.
People can of course blindly bet any team at all to win and in effect be doing something no different to pulling the lever on a casino slot machine.   Thats still possible to either not care about the details or just be wildly wrong but I would separate the two generally.

Also arguably there is some support given by sports gambling back towards the sports.   I really dont think alot of horse racing would exist without the gambling aspect, a whole generation of pedigree horses and trainers and business behind it would not be there if not for the interest of spectators and gamblers.
