Twitter will follow Google and Facebook's lead in banning cryptocurrency ads.

The ban will roll out Tuesday, and become fully enforceable for all advertisers within a month, including initial coin offerings and token sales.

It will also cover ads by cryptocurrency exchanges and cryptocurrency wallet services.

Is that a problem for bitcoin too or only ICO's ??

Ads ban is a problem for ICOs. ICOs can not maximizing their marketing to funds their project. I am believe twitter and facebook will lift their ads ban because its new bussiness.

A lot many of the ICOs are using social media bounty campaigns for their promotion, and this has put Facebook and Twitter in legal troubles. If some ICO promoter runs away with the money, then the platforms that they have used are also liable for legal action.

If twitter bans cryptocurrency ads I would say they are late to the party! Did google not do the same thing?? Did facebook not threaten fire and brimstone?? What are their positions now?? Google went bank on their decision, so did facebook! Twitter only wants it to be on record that they did ban cryptocurrency ads, I think this ban is so unnecessary! It would realize its mistake sooner and go back on the ban too!! But I tweet constantly I haven't noticed anything like it.

I don't think that twitter banning cryptocurrencies ads would anyway affect bitcoin. A lot investors are still buying bitcoin and its popularity is also increasing.

Well there might be an impact, in such a way that if we picture out the probable things that might happen when the twitter did not ban it. I can say that if twitter did not ban it then more people would know it, then there will be more opportunities and so as the increase in popularity.

I support this action from twitter same as those social media sites that banned cryptocurrency advertising for most of the Newly created ico now are scammers ,these sites only protecting their subscribers to become a victim

And about the effect in this community?maybe is some instances yes but it will only take short time, but in long run people will be thankful about whats this great media sites provide for them.and i believe that a good project dont really need those advertisements instead the dev and team will povide this for the investors

About this "Twitter is forbidden to advertise cryptocurrencies" I find bitcoin will not lose so much, plus it's going up every single day, so I see that it's not killing because of the bitcoin of we do not.

I am sad if Twitter prohibits cryptocurrency advertising. In my opinion this nature should establish a more permanent cooperation. And that will look better. This means that they are mutually beneficial and no one is harmed. Why not?  Huh

is this news is true? i never see ads in the twitter, and i dont know about ads in twitter about cryptocurrency, but if the twitter ban all ads that related with bitcoin and cryptocurrency i think it will worst for the cryptocurrency investor and the ICO project owner because the can get the traffic from that ads
Three internet giants, Twitter, Google, Facebook banned cryptocurrency ads on their pages. Indirectly affect people about cryptocurrency. But their policy is not without reason, they might prepare their own crypto money, because seeing the potential that exists in particular bitcoin that is popular throughout the world makes them tempted to enter the cryptocurrency business. Or it could be that they do not like cryptocurrency due to anonymous factors so that  misused by criminals.

Actually sad, too, when twitter helped ban crypto ads, but this will not be long and certainly reopened for crypto ads. If indeed it will make crypto itself not need to close bitcoin, I don't think it will affect the development of bitcoin.

It is normal for social networks to block cryptocurrency ads, since google is not interested in having decentralized technological competence. That's why twitter and facebook lick your ass to google, instagram too, bought by facebook

I don't know why they are against it, maybe the reason it' they have the project to create their own crypto!
Still a speculation without basis just like what we are thinking about facebook's action too. If another big popular site will come to enforce a law like this one of banning crypto ads, we will think that they are going to create their own crypto.
"YouTube bans crypto ads" - Okay, youtube will create their own token.

I had a second thought about it. It may be good for us after all. If websites such as Facebook and Twitter ban ads related to crypto-currencies, then the latter will be left with few options other than to advertise about their products through this forum. And this may be beneficial for users like us.

in short that if Facebook and Twitter even Google prohibits ads related to crypto currencies, then there will be no campaigns, Facebook, Twitter, Blogger and Youtube? so the allocation for the signature campaign in this forum is very large.

this is not a significant problem for bitcoin, because getting information about bitcoin can be from anywhere, in fact more and more people are coming to cryptocurrency ..

Social media is indeed very easy to be able to get many investors and of course the brand platform must be wiser to be able to provide comfort between investors and information providers so that no one is harmed

the ban will cover advertising for initial coin offering (ico) and token sale. The policy will be introduced over the course and will include ban's on cryptocurrency exchanges and wallet services, unless they are public companies and are listed in major stockexchanges.twitter will limit advertisement for crypto exchanges under the purview exchanges and to those under the purview of the national financial regulation.

twitter cities safety for user as the primary motivator behind the ban.twitter was already taking measure to prevent crypto related accounts from" engaging with other in deceptive manner"

looks funny, one social media makes a ban on crypto advertising, other social media like following it. no one was harmed from the crypto ad, as long as they were able to pay for the ad. except, from these advertisements there is negative content that harms the other party.  Grin

yep thats true , crypto ads have been banned anywhere not just only on social media but on most popular sites online but not all crypto related contented ( only ico's that are scam maybe )   .

I had a second thought about it. It may be good for us after all. agree on the both of you guys , banning crypto ads on other sites are indeed beneficial to this forum because advertisers will surely start crawling here and if that happens , we can now expect an unlimited number of signature campaigns that pays in btc or eth per week  but scams are not exempted of course Smiley
