Heh, he and most people are that guy. I mean, I admit, I play a lot of manual dice and roulette too and when I decide to go big bets that can last perhaps 7/8 streaks, then I play tiny until I see perhaps a 4-lose streak THEN I go in and bet my martingale.

I still know my chances have not changed and the probability for me to 7/8 lose in a row has not changed. But I do it anyway, just because.

Apparently Gambler's fallacy has been detected even in other industries, to detrimental effects. E.g. in law, if the last 5 cases were not guilty, surely the next one has to be guilty?

Law is not random probability lol  at least I hope not  .   I studied probability distributions in statistical analysis while in college and its a great subject but the data has to be processed and formatted correctly to draw any reasonable conclusion.  Even at best if you apply your best mathematics there is confidence levels to state with each set outcome, there are rigid parameters that must be applied to state anything at all.    I wish I had used all my course every day because its the most useful subject and practical to every day life that anyone could do but it has to be done properly or we just can assume we dont know.  
     The best thing to do is start with the study of a set of coin flips and the beginning assumption is every coin flip is identical hence we have a calculation of how probable is 10 heads in a row and so on.   Thats theory, the practical application is people arent robots who throw a coin exactly the same every time.   In fact if I had to I can make a coin land heads or tails so long as I am allowed to catch it and place it on the back of my hand, its a common kind of con trick that people might play.   Never let anyone catch the coin after a coin flip, anyone who watches soccer knows they let coin flips drop for that reason afaik.
   Unfortunately theory and actual real life introduces alot of noise to the arguments for & against but probability theory is totally valid, hundreds of years old and is used every day across every industry to improve safety and prediction of outcomes.    

I understand there is a bad reputation, just stats in general some consider to be lies.   Government breaks all the rules on proper use but thats politics which compromises everything it touches, anyone in civil service and engineering knows projections have to be made for the use under load and it will save lives if done properly.   Theres no way probability can ever be written off or forgotten as a subject, it would make us all poorer as a society.   We might consider it as part of predicting gambling but also the inverse is it can be used to reduce risks ongoing and unavoidable in life but that we wish to highlight and track.

It is all about your luck.

If you are not lucky, you start betting right now and get 100 losses by choosing high. You can even get the same result if you choose to alternate your bets. Yes it is possible. Now you see how scary it is.

The opposite can happen too if you are lucky. One big if.

I tried to win by martingale and did my own experiments in the past, a lot. 20+ losses a lot more common than you think. When you start with 1 sat and lose 20 times, you'll find yourself risking 0.02097152BTC on your 21st round.

I think you can separate the individual odd and the total losses as well when talking about things.
Just to explain it this way, if you ask me "if I get 20 losses in a row at 50% then what is the chance of me losing the 21st one as well?"

I would still say 50% and not a single more because every single bet is individual that way, however if you ask me "what are the odds of getting 20 losses in a row at 50%" then I may say lower because we are not talking about a future bet, we are not talking about one single bet, we are talking about a whole block there.

Plus you getting 20 losses in a row is more rare if it is your first 20 bets of the session, but it would be quite common and actually expected as well if you gambled like 50k rounds so far, the more you play the more chances of you getting win and loss streaks.

Lol. Yeup happened to me before too, I think I even mentioned it somewhere here a few weeks/months back. I've never hit more than the 3rd tier prize, BUT I have seen 8888 and 0000 on freeroll. So I have not hit 9994 to 10000. That is at least 7 numbers I have never hit in freeroll!

@Csmiami I know this feeling as I too once hit 9999 and I was like dam missed the jackpot by just 1 number, but keep on trying because you never know when you may get lucky and hit 10000. @slaman29 if you’re often getting 8888 in the free rolls then you definitely should try your hand on their multiplier, and who knows you may win the jackpot someday.

There are actually still PTC now? I mean I get that click ad for reward models are still good for games or credit, but they've got to be worth crap now if paid in actual satoshi. Hitting 00000 could be as challenging as hitting 10k honestly, that is equally rare to hit but the game is designed that way so that you are required to hit higher numbers and not lower and 00000 is the lowest you can get so you are technically doing something very rare but also you reached the worst possible bet ever .

If you guys think 8888 or stuff like that are more plausible and you think you can take advantage of it, there is always gambling, plus while you are gambling there is so many thing going on as well, from free reward points to free tickets to increasing freeroll to getting more wagering amount later (with condition of rollover of course) and getting lambo tickets as well. So you can not just try to get 10k but you can take advantage of 00000 as well.
