yes this is the time to hodl and buy. I think if there is someone who is selling their bitcoins now,they are stupid. They are contributing to the downfall of bitcoin's price. If we just hodl, we can somehow prevent bitcoin from falling continuously.

This time is not for selling but for buying more and holding your existing coins. The price is on the way up and soon we will see big bump in the price. Till that time you should hold your coins if you want to earn money from your investment. Try to buy more on low price cause it is the rules of trading. Bitcoin is just like stock exchange shares, buy on low and sell on high.

Yes practically you are correct you will not loss if you just only hold it but if you sell it for a low price well it is time that you will loss lots of profit...  As for now it is better to hold it rather than getting panic because of the volatiity of the price... A lots of people used it to avoid possible loses...  Try it also if you want and you will realize that it a right decision....

I hodl more than 1 year and some coins are still in the red , if i traded  i would get some profit

It is no surprise that all transactional intermediaries, including wallets, also charge a transaction fee. The hold is completely free of transaction costs but if the profit margin is very high then the cost is no longer a problem anymore. This is simple to understand.

Hold is the best strategies to earn more profits in bitcoin. This is the way I handle my investment in  bitcoin.  I always keep on monitoring  the price of bitcoin in the market cap. and if I see the good chance to trade my bitcoin then I sell it right away and earn more profits.

I had a great financial problem so i resorted to sell my BTC even if it has small market price value for now. I did not have the choice because it is for medical expenses but still i am positive that one day i could recover from the loss.

In that situation you have not to put all your money on bitcoins or any other investment. You have to set aside any amount of allocation that you may use for emergency or if not in some needs when expenses arises. Market will go recover but we aren't sure when it is especially for altcoins its been very low since december 2017.

If money is not a constraint then you are correct that you should hold during tough times as in the bright times every one wants to sell. So if people sell now it means they are losing a huge bright opportunity which they could have made money during the rise.

Because anyone telling you they're "supposed to gain" doesn't know what they're talking about. When the price was $19,000, people were still saying it was a buying opportunity because the coins were "supposed to gain" all the way to the moon.  But they didn't, because that's not how markets work. People wouldn't know the moon if they crashed right into the side of it, which we very likely did. We already went to the moon, and now we're on our way back down to Earth in a slow, controlled descent. 

The market most certainly did crash. It's down over 70% from ATH. That's a monster crash. Any momentum to try and break this fall is short lived and easily reversed. As for why you would choose to sell, it's because you don't know how low it's going to go, if it will ever recover, or if it does recover how much the recovery will be or how long it will sustain. You would sell to limit risk of additional losses.

it will be even more true if we have trading skills, so that we can analyze properly when buying and selling the btc they own. and i think that will make maximum profit. but it doesn't hurt if we keep holding it for a long time

We all have different views and opinions about selling and holding nowadays since we are all seeing that bitcoin and altcoins is in the middle of a crisis. No matter how long we are holding, if the market stays red, we will surely start doubting it so you cannot really blame those who already sold their holdings and ended up their faith towards crypto.
