How can topics question be answered, when everyday altcoin appear and disapper? There is no exact number for that. Everything is in demand hands and in the hand of whale market players. Because they can drown and send to the sky. I am just sure that top20 from coinmarketcap will stay and even this is a discussible prediction.
Yeah we cannot define how much because there are no integrated website or apps that could count all of them even the big platform like coin marketcap is still not covers all of cryptocurrency circulating in the internet. So we could not answer how many, but the most important thing the volume and the market cap of all cryptocurreny overall must be increase so we will see a healthy market in the next following years We do only have one place on where we do check the overall counting of current coins in the market neither coinmarketcap or coingecko since these are the sites on where people do been searching off for specific coins. Talking about survivability then this kind of list wont be accurate one because as long it does have value then you could really tell that it is still alive or kicking unless if its delisted and goes zero then thats the time we do call it that it didnt survive and now the produced coins in the market is still continuing thats why having precise answer is less likely. |

Because if you say surviving, it means even if they have very low trading volume, it can be considered alive. So I think, it is better to check valuable projects rather than surviving coins. For sure, there will be a lot of surviving coins but only few of them are worth checking out. In my opinion, it is still better to check those top alts and see their progress in terms of their development goals. |

Depends on how they'll retain their place there. Not every coin in the top 100 are staying there for long. Many there are going up and more are going down with the rankings. That's why you should be good in choosing the altcoins in that rank for you to maximize the potential of it and your potential profit. |

I believe people are getting smarter regarding cryptocurrencies and finally start doing some research before buying anything. In my opinion, crypto tokens without a strong project and team behind them will no longer get as much attention in the future. One strategy before any token purchases will be DIOR, for example I am following this project since July https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5344159.msg57244402#msg57244402 , and I will definitely wait until round 2 of public sale just to see the public reaction to it |

I think that only 10% coins/tokens that would be able to survive and will be worth investing in 2021.
There are currently 2400 tokens that are known and many unknown to anyone. By the end of the year 2020, at least 100-200 new tokens will be created. Every day in the world there are 5 new airdrops. I think it is not realistic to calculate. But I'm pretty sure new tokens are being created more than they are being deleted.
But we have to buy only good market capitalization coins. Don't invest money in shit coins.
2% is the best in my opinion. for that 2% we can see from coinmarketcap where the price is the most realistic and the token is also still developing and I think it is the strongest in surviving |

I think all tokens have a 90% chance of surviving, but just take the top 10 for security, even then it's still too much to invest.

As you said there will be more to come so we can't say how many will last, but we believe that the top cryptos will still be among the ones that will survive for me, that's obvious, unless there's going to be a big problem which will destroy them completely. There are already so many shitcoins and many more to come and we can hope that some of the cryptocurrencies that have value today may become worthless tomorrow. |

sometimes there are coins that are worthless but surprise to be pumped at a high price. These coins seem worth investing but we have to really do some research to be able to find coins that go from zero to heroes. This will inevitably happen at any time and unexpectedly for coins that suddenly surprise a significant increase
the most important thing is to look at the coin, even though it looks like a worthless coin but it is pumped hard and behind the coin there is a solid team maybe worth investing in. what worries us is the coin is pumped hard but pumped because of the hype and no power to last long term. it is very harmful and we must avoid it. |

Year is almost ending and, in overall, I think that it has been a very good year for crypto in general. Tokens who did survive for the last three-year long bear market (2018-2020) didn't struggle, I think, this 2021, so answering the initial question posed in this thread, I guess that many coins and tokens survived in 2021, and many even surged!
Let's see how the next two months until the New Year unfold. If the price of Bitcoin rises to 100K, I am not sure how other coins and tokens will perform in comparison. But I'm optimistic on their survival, in any case.

It's a difficult possibility to predict in the future. Every year there are only good projects that are worked on, there are also old coin that rise in 2021. If it is predicted how many tokens will grow, the answer is all have the same opportunity, depending on the developers who innovate. Technology is always evolving.
