Just  a prayer to waves developers : may you please consider releasing a waves desktop wallet for 32 bit operating systems?

Indeed. It is handy to have so many links in one place on the OP in BCT.

Also - I second those thanks to turing for starting the old thread!  Cheesy

What does waves offer different than ethereum? Because if they are almost indentical, aka the same thing then I don't see why would anybody want to make and switch between ethereum and Waves. Ethereum is somewhat standard where people will want to lunch their own tokens and built their smart contracts, with huge support from the community and this is why it will be in my mind when it comes to smart contracts and dApps and tokens in general. Why is Waves better, or why would I want to do anything on ti rather than do it on ethereum???

First of all, I would advice to just try the Waves platform for yourself, as it is important to form your own judgement and user experience. Also, you can read a lof of information on their Website, or join their Discord channel.

There are some major differences between Waves and ETH.
1) Waves has Leased proof of stake (LPOS) consensus algorithm. No hardware needed for mining. You can start your own node, or lease them to another node.
2) Waves has the new generation consensus algorithm implemented (Waves NG). This means the network can handle much more transactions per second than ETH (around 8.5x faster) and it can scale up even faster. ETH had a lot of issues in the past with handling large volumes of transactions.
3) Waves has much lower transaction fees than ETH
4) Waves has an integrated working DEX on it's platform. You can exchange crypto's for only 0.003 Waves, which is around 0.01 USD today.
5) Waves has a very user friendly wallet, both desktop and online version
6) By owning Waves you will receive regular airdrops and miner rewards (passive income)
7) This year, Waves will implement smart contracts and atomic swaps.

I own Waves since beginning of 2017 and really believe on the long term potential of this project. It has an actual working product, with a clear unique vision for the future. Also, it has a state of the art technology that can scale up for mass adoption with "Waves NG". When smart contracts and atomic swaps are implemented, Waves can easely compete with ETH, or NEO from a technical point of view.

There are so many over-hyped cryptos in the space that have no proven working product, or are just copies/forks from the same thing. i am sure that at some point there will be a major shake-out in the market. Having a solid working product will be the key for survival on the long term.

Waves is definitely a good and undervalued project and coin. All it needs is more popularity among people. People still prefer ethereum over it. Personally I like the waves decentralized exchange. I use it often to trade often.

Very undervalued, it's not popular because every crypto newb in 2017 bought Neo and still think its the future of crypto....it's astonishing to me how the 2017 have responded to crypto.
Until a move happens that pierces  waves into the collective minds of crypto investors, it will just trade naturally with the overall trend of the alt market.....a shame really because it has a significant advantage over almost all token economy platforms. Think about it....all these fresh erc-20 tokens hardly have a mainnet chain going yet...

Long time holder in the project here as well, I feel most of us seeking info here would be true investors in the WAVES project. I think our great potential is about to be realized soon.

Decentralized Applications, or DApps, is a great tool set that can be scaled and applied to any phenomenon. Actually, almost everything can be a DApp

Believe WAVES has a good future, and in realizing intelligent contract exchange, waves and eth are the most competitive, and the value of the wave is undervalued because too many projects are used to using ETH, but the shortcomings of eth are being amplified, and waves is more acceptable at the price side. I think the waves are still in the early stages of growth.

Lol. I really hope they get to do that as well honestly. I have always believed so much in the waves platform and I have been holding the coin for a very long time which I believe it is going to be worth waiting anyway considering how the devs have been working hard and trying to make the project of having a decentralized exchange platform a success. If they can have much more suitable wallets anyway, it would not be a bad idea at all.

These are the reasons that I have always been a very huge fan of waves and even though some have complained about the movement in its value as nothing much is being gotten from holding it, but for those who can see a great future for waves and with the way the devs have been active, I feel it is pretty much worth knowing that this is one coin one should be holding in his or her portfolio because I see a great chance for the waves decentralized platform.

Anytime I try to consider investment into Waves, what I realize is that nothing on Waves platform that it does better than other competing ones. I personally don't like to invest in a project without a good chance of leading its space. Waves started as DEX but we all know this is not a DEX now into smart contract, is it better than Ethereum

It's good to see the Waves team has an official bitcointalk thread again.  Waves has so much going on positively this year that there's no way to stop it from becoming a tsunami.  I am glad to be a Waves supporter since day one.  Go WAVES!
