on that note here's a cpuminer I super glued together, it finds blocks on testnet, and gets roughly the same performace as the client(at least in linux).

I've uploaded your source to
https://github.com/skeincoin/skeincoin-cpuminer. For some reason I had to add the -lcrypto library when linking on linux, so I modified the makefiles accordingly.
I'm testing it now, with 1 CPU, so it might take a while to find a block.
