Also do ppl need a guide to make it work or is everyone tech savvy enough ? I'm willing to write a guide if needed.

Also working with a friend to get it to work as py2exe, because executables are easy, but having serious trouble with the include of numpy and pyopencl while building.

I pm'ed reorder asking about the gpu miner. His response was:

"....snoopdoug has volunteered to clean up the miner and publish it later.... If you wish, I can give you a copy of my miner at a promise to not distribute in its current state."

I got the source from reorder, and I have to agree, clean up and optimization are necessary before release, but it works (a little). Hoping to see a gpu miner release soon.
 
Many thanks to reorder for sharing the code, and showing how far along it is.

(As far as hashrate goes. the version i got from reorder is doing about 40 MH/s on a 5770, so 4x-5x time as high as an overclocked 2500k@4.8, also this proves that there are no gpu miners being held hostage. reorder was testing diff adjustment if I understand the code correctly so that would explain the huge increase from the other day)

40 MHz sounds pretty low for 5770, have you tried with '-f 1' switch? Anyway, I do not do bitcoin-style binary patching for BFI_INT, chances are it could help in your case (if the card has this instruction and compiler does not generate it for bitselect by default).

I suggest that reorder is awarded the bounty for the first working, open-source GPU miner for Skeincoin.

I’ve done some minor clean-up and plan to make more tweaks.  Feel free to fork the repo and help with improvements.

Download MinGW and build skeinhash.so like:

Create a bat and point it to your poclbm location.

Some time ago it felt like the pool rejects multiple nonces for the same work as duplicates, but I am not sure. I have rechecked, and the miner does not send a single nonce twice. It does not have nTime-rolling though, but it should not be necessary with stratum at these hashrates.

You should be able to load the dll in 64-bit python if it is 64-bit too, for that you would need 64-bit MinGW (which exists, but is in beta for like forever).

Sorry, that would be way over my time budget. Anyway, I think cgminer is a better target if you go for a binary build. I think there is a working cgminer mod for blakecoin, so it must be possible to diff sources and replicate changes they have done there for SKC (that is, if you too find cgminer workflow too hard to grok).
