I have finally built cgminer for skein, it is temporarily here: https://github.com/reorder/cgminer_keccak/tree/skein (note the 'skein' branch).
I will try to optimize the kernel a bit more and then perhaps move the branch to a separate repository. Meanwhile, I'd appreciate it if someone volunteers to build it for Windows

Wow, nice And I mean this in the unix priority sense - the poclbm was hogging my CPU, which might explain why this is considerably faster. Where can I donate?

I have actually done some updates, not sure if I have even committed all necessary files when I posted my first message I was fiddling with git branches in multiple local copies and messed things up somewhat initially.

Great BTW it can also do keccak and scrypt, might come in handy if one switches coins.

But i need help! I have a new motherboard and it works good, but i get with the cgminer and my ATI 5870 only 250 kh/s respectively 100 MH/s on the new skein cgminer.
With my old Motherboard get i 500 kH/s or with the pocblm-miner get i by skein 1 GH/s. What make i wrong? I use the almost the same .bat...

My .bat:
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --skein -o stratum+tcp://skc.coinmine.pl:6400 -u XXXXXX -p XXXXXX -I 10 --gpu-threads 1 --thread-concurrency 8000 --shaders 1600

Can i use a usb-aisc? When yes, how?

Try increasing powertune and maxing intensity first. Then overclock your gpu.

Just a quick heads-up for the pool skc.plasr.com -- it is down at the moment, I'm transfering it to a faster datacenter, it should be up shortly afterwards. I'm mentioning this just in case someone tries to check it out now. Sorry for not announcing this downtime. The pool should be up again in a couple of hours max.

Hey,

Skeincoin crypto is the same as Bitcoin's save for the PoW. You can use bitcoin-abe and vanitygen with it (if vanitygen is what you mean by address generation).
