i was wondering how this formula was created how many night and day of thinking until this formula found min((1103515245*(uid+activity)+12345) % (1<<10),(1103515245*posts+12345) % (1<<10), (1103515245*merit+12345) % (1<<10)) its more complicated than einstein's formula e=mc2 surely the one who invited this is much more genius than einstein's
Tell me what do you know about general relativity? facking lol, did you just compared 1103515245*posts+12345 with E=mc2? don't talk about something you don't know anything about. doing that would make you a fool.

This is an april fools joke. While merit improved things a lot, clearly more adjustments were necessary. Therefore, some new rank requirements have been added in addition to the old requirements. The new rank components are: Activity & MeritAs before. PolitenessHow polite you have been in your posts, using language such as "please" and "sir". Politeness is after all the cornerstone of any good community. fMeritAn obvious extension on top of Merit, sMerit, and source merit. It is calculated using this simple formula: min((1103515245*(uid+activity)+12345) % (1<<10),(1103515245*posts+12345) % (1<<10), (1103515245*merit+12345) % (1<<10)) ImaginationBitcoin would not even exist without Satoshi's impressive imagination, so I've decided to take this into account on the forum. Imaginative people are those who have posted many images. VirtueThis is an upright, God-fearing community which will suffer no witchcraft or other heresy. This stat measures your moral virtue. Warning: those with low virtue may be visited by the holy inquisition. CoinsHow many different coins you have invested in. A good Bitcointalker will maintain a reasonable balance between conservative (100% yearly return) and aggressive (7% weekly return) tokens/coins. KarmaThis is how many non-scammer trust ratings you have both sent and received. Due to our strict moderation of the trust system, this is sure to be a highly reliable measure of your reliability vis-à-vis the trust system.
Previously a lot of people were posting questions about the ranking system, so I decided to simplify it. Just put the highest-order 10 bits of each number into a grid in this configuration: Then run Conway's Game of Life on the cells. If the cells never stop moving even after infinite steps, then you advance to the next rank. For example, consider someone with these stats: Merit: 40 Activity: 56 Politeness: 36 fMerit: 56 Imagination: 36 Virtue: 40 Coins: 56 Karma: 40 This gives you a grid like: This never ends, so the person will advance in rank. Rank adjustments happen every week on Tuesday, and you can only go up 1 rank per week. Hopefully this easy-to-understand, graphical ranking system will put to rest many users' questions and concerns once and for all. Fucking hell man, I actually thought it was real

Yesterday not less than 172 sMerit was received by the forum administrator TheyMos for the newly introduced system which later turn out to be April Fools. Can one conclude that sMerit sent was a waits?
They were acknowledging that it was a really good joke and a lot of effort went into making it. So not wasted in my opinion. Oh yes it is, I even give the admin a Merit Point to show my appreciation to what he have done although I know it's a big foolishness Now you will see here that many members are still active to give their sMERITS but only for those who truly deserves it

Still thinking about the fMerit. Theymosnreally get me yesterday!!!!! I love this forum.
Lol... The fmerit too got me because I had a reasonable number of it (below 100 though). And, I was thinking could that be a mechanism to reduce my little merit I had already . I was more confused with the fmerit and was waiting to follow any thread on it... Smiles. Theymos got me there. What a joke....

I can't believe it took a while for some people to find out that it was all a joke. Some of them opened threads complaining and asking "Why theymos? WHY?". Hahaha.
It would be funny if some people started spamming pictures to increase their "imagination". Hahaha.

- Virtue was the edit distance between your name and "Lauda". In other words, you believe that Lauda has no morals. Interesting... You have no edit distance with Lauda. what would you do if you find the real Lauda to be a girl around 20-25 years old in a room alone with you? would you jump her before killing her or after? If theymos could have disabled Lauda's trust ratings for April fools day, we could have you for a fool for real. interesting... QS, find some vagina for these confused sperms. contribute to this community by doing something other than . < us. Uhhh, I am not quite sure how to respond to this. I would never touch someone described in any way like Lauda.

i think this new profiling system is too complicated and no one will understand it. how is virtue calculated? for example or do i have to write Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please Sir please to get better politeness rating? oh boy.... easy-peasy sir. I guess what sir dev/mod wants us to understand that politeness is respecting. It only means we should show some respect towards each other. Being impolite only shows rudeness and disrespect. It reflects who we really are.

I would imagine a large percentage (90% or more) of those dishing out merits for this subject matter either understood that it was an April fools joke or that they were taking the subject matter with a LARGE grain of salt (in the event that they were uncertain about the joke status). Giving out smerits remains in the eyes of the beholder, so I doubt that we should consider such discretionary choices to send smerits to be wasted. Just from the nature of this particular joke, it seems quite plausible that Theymos has been giving considerable thought to how the merit system is playing out, yet I could not imagine tweaking the merit system too early in regards to whether too much waste is occurring due to the fact that some members receive a lot of merits, but they might not be in the practice of sending out the generated smerits (that smerits generate at .5 from the receipt of merits). It could take 6 months or more to figure out if there should be some kind of incentive to spend smerits (or punishment for not spending smerits).

1) Self-Custody is a right. There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Wait a minute, did I missed something here? It seems like the new ranking points blablah disappeared. Oh let me guess, so it's really is a April 1st's Prank isn't? All this time, I'm trying to understand how the equation works but all of it was just a joke I've been defending my side to prove that it is not a joke but, looks like I'm the funny and fooled one. Nice one Sir theymos I admit, I've been fooled. But I do like the idea of that new ranking requirements. Oh men, I'm going to miss my Politeness points Seriously, is it really a joke? Actually it's my first April 1st to be with you guys, in the Forum as well. And I never thought that Sir theymos, which is the Admin and the most scary and strict person I know in the Froum, can do such a thing just to make us happy Thanks for that entertaining prank Sir theymos (I really hope that it was just a prank now because if it is not, what I'm saying now will be a shame to myself). I'm pretty sure that you fooled everybody. Those who made threads about this new ranking requirements are 100% fooled, I assured. Haha Edit. I've noticed the title and it is really a joke. By the way, it seems like this thread was not only made to fool people. Looks like Sir theymos won this battle. Because of this big update, Newbies and other Members has stopped posting about Merits any more.

Not sure what rank comes after Legendary...
Seriously? You don't know? It's nullius of course.
Honestly, and joking apart, I would love for Theymos to twerk the system a bit to accommodate some of those seemingly joke items that many have highlighted would better the forums.

- Politeness was how many times you used "please", "sir", "pardon", "apprecia*", "may I", "thanks", and "thank you" in past posts. This is poking a bit of fun at the people who are unnecessarily polite like this.
'Unnecessarily' polite? This is my first time of hearing that using those words mean that the other person is been unnecessarily polite. Those words are kind gestures and are most times used to show appreciation for services received or rendered. This is a faceless forum and I believe its the only way to show appreciation for any good deeds you receive here. What do you think the world will become if those words cease to be or never spoken. Psychological, gratitudes have a huge effect on a person character. And its not just about this forum but about the world entirely. It's about passing good deeds. I understand that most people are using those words to get favor from the other person but we shouldn't generalize.

Saying please and thank you isn't unnecessary but doing it over and over in the same post and throwing in a few Sirs as well can be a bit over the top. There's a certain type of poster on this forum that displays that trait.

On the other hand that board actually have nothing more than just weekly report board for the bounty participant, you will learn nothing there.
