MtGox bitcoin withdrawal delay >:(

Has anyone been successfully able to withdraw a good amount of coin - say, over 2,000? If so, how long did it take?

That could only mean they are nearly broke and having liquidity problems. Otherwise, what does it change for the blockchain if the withdrawal is 100 or 1000? AFAIK the blockchain has no "limits" and in fact, AS WE ALL KNOW, dust is discouraged and for the network "the bigger the better" as it reduces blockchain bloating.

One person here withdrew 700btc. It took him five days to receive I think.

According how the withdraws works on gox, I would make 7 withdrawals to take that 700, not a direct 700 withdrawal. Is better to be stocked with 300 btc than 700 btc.

Today I was not able to withdraw 1500 euros, I ever get an error. I'm not happy with Gox now, I never had a problem until now.

BTW my 150 euros sent before, are still on the road, but I'm not able to found it on the log of gox.

My transfer just arrived, but not 150, just 136.62 €.

This just happened to me attempting to transfer 9.43573859 BTC from MTGox to Cex.io. Only been about an hour but I have very dim hopes for getting access to my btc in a timely fashion.

Oh, and I missed buying into the damn dip on Cex... icing on the cake.

Does Gox answer support on Sat/Sun?? Live chat is anything but. My support ticket hasn't been supported yet. This does not augur well for my weekend.

BTW, is there no forum member that acts as technical support/ PR liason for Gox?

Then why don't they just post a simple message stating that large withdrawals will take longer.  I just withdrew 1 btc and then another withdrawal of 50 btc and both went through within a few minutes.  I then tried a 100 btc withdrawal and still waiting 1.5 hrs later.  I would gladly have broken it up if I knew this ahead of time but there was nothing alerting me to large withdrawal delays.

As i said, i was specifically told by karples that breaking large transactions into < 100 BTC chunks would make them go faster.

You mean simple things like this splashed across the withdrawal page:

"BTC : You can still withdraw up to 100.00000000 BTC provided you have enough on your account (your limit is 100.00000000 BTC per 24 hours )"

Open your eyes.

It says I can withdraw up to 2000 per day.  Not 100.

Deposit made it into my CEX.io wallet sometime this morning. Thanks, if someone had to push any buttons/pull any levers to facilitate this. No response from support yet so I wonder if this just "unstuck" itself.

so, i have to ask, from veteran Gox users, how often does this happen? am i statistically over the hump as far as this occurring again? esp on sub 10 btc amounts?

another user contacted me via email, got hit for 13.8. denying access to funds in this time sensitive market is the cardinal sin in this space. i want to use Gox (volatility is off the chain) but I'd almost be a fool to send them my coins again.

Over $10k probably got you flagged by the banks due to government regulations.

If you take out $9500 multiple times that'll get you flagged for "structuring" which a crime.

Its no-win. Just contact your bank or their bank, make sure its all authorized, etc.
