Amazon GC no longer available through Gyft - Alternatives?

Last night, I went to buy some Amazon gift cards with BTC on Gyft. They weren't available. I figured it was a temporary thing, an API issue or something, because that's happened before. But I emailed them about it and they responded, "Amazon is no longer available through Gyft."

Are there any similar alternatives? I really liked having a corporate reseller because you could always trust that their cards weren't fraudulent.

With P2P or things like Purse, fraud is really common, so I'm looking for a reputable reseller like Gyft.

I used to buy a good deal of Starbucks cards on the forums a couple years back. A lot of them ended up being carded. I wasn't too concerned then, but I'm more paranoid about my Amazon account because it's linked to my identity and physical address. Maybe if I found a very reputable trader on here who loads gift cards himself, but dealing with randoms in the marketplace sounds risky. I never tried them myself so I couldn't tell you from a personal experience but I definitely saw other people recommending the service. I have traded with two members[1][2] in the last few months with Amazon gift cards/balance, I suggest contacting them.

I've used them for ~ 4 years and bought hundreds of gift cards without a problem.

In that thread, Amazon mentions multiple invalid gift cards. It's not clear where the prior cards were bought from. There's no way they closed his account over one $125 card. We don't know their fraud detection methods; it may have been automatic when he redeemed another gift card regardless. It almost looks like they swiped the money to recoup prior losses from fraud.

It's hard to get Amazon gift cards these days (at least without break any amazon rules) due to rules such as restrict selling AGC from specific country outside US.

I wonder why Gyft dropped them. eGifter is US-only apparently. I'm in the US so that works for me.

I have to say that this reasoning by Amazon is stupid. They closed the account because the user tried to pay with invalid cards. Last I checked you can add card balance to your Amazon account and it's being validated right there. If the card is invalid, the code gets rejected and that's it. Your code can get rejected for instance because of a typo or when you're trying to reuse an old code by mistake. Things like that happen and I have never heard of anyone's account being blocked for that reason.
If the code got accepted it means it was legit and the user could use it to pay for things. There's even a way to check the validity and balance of a code without adding it to the balance.

I found a thread where I think you can buy amazon gift card or coins or directly to your email, but this is not the same as gyft or a website unlike the other website they mention here in your thread, but he is member of this forum so you can deal with him directly.

You can try using egifter like omega suggested. I have bought a couple of cards before. Just had an issue once where there was an error with payment. The support team resolved my issue quickly and i was quite happy with their service. You could give it a go.

The Currency Exchange section of the forum in Marketplace is a good place to look for conversions to almost anything from BTC or other crypto. Just open a thread there, make an exchange, and you're done. I've had good experiences ordering Steam GCs totalling a few hundred dollars from SteamGamesBTC.com, and they also seem to sell Amazon GCs (albeit only $10 cards, and at a premium- $11.90). Egifter's also a good option; I've ordered about $200 in Amazon GCs from them and they were all delivered in a timely fashion. Paxful may also be a viable option, but I haven't tried using them yet.

however, it seems like eGifter left a loophole (in the US only). they say you can still buy amazon gift cards using "an 'eGifter swap' performed by a gift recipient." here's how that works:

When you receive a gift card on eGifter as a gift from someone else, you can exchange the gift card brand they sent you for another gift card brand, including Amazon.com. To do this, click the “Exchange Gift” button on the gift before you claim it. Upon verifying that you want to exchange the brand you received, you will have an eGifter Swap Card that you can use for any gift card of the same value available on eGifter.

The only current limitation for using an eGifter Swap Card is if you select Amazon.com.  In this case, the Amazon.com card cannot exceed the value of the eGifter Swap card. Additionally, if you combine other brand gift cards with Amazon.com in your eGifter shopping cart, you will only be able to use the following payment methods at checkout:

i haven't tried it, but it looks like you can still buy most gift cards with bitcoin, then "gift it to yourself" (different account) and then swap it. my friend swears by eGifter and has put thousands through it, so i might try this out next time i need one.

Doesn't purse have their up to $10k compensation for fraud? If you're buying small amounts, I don't think that it's a problem.

Otherwise I think you would have to go with eGifter, or Bitpay if you want a guaranteed clean card. I haven't used neither, but Bitpay has an option to buy amazon gift cards in their wallet that you can specify how much you want to buy. And bitpay is a pretty big company, so I'd say you can trust them with this.

If you want to have better rates and you're able to take on some risks, either seek out offers on localbitcoins as an advertiser or post a WTB thread on forum. Both will get you at least 0-10% premium for your bitcoins, but there is a risk that these cards are fraudulent even though they shouldn't be if you deal with reputable parties.

looks like a pretty convoluted hack but i guess it doesn't matter if they piss amazon off any more.

i can't quite figure the ins and outs of that though. are you buying a gift card through them bought by someone from outside the site? that's a no for me.

That's a lot of hassle. But it does seem like it may work based on their description.

Avoid purse entirely because pretty much the only reason why people would be able to pay such high rates for BTC is because their AGC is unclean, and since you're the one that the item is getting shipped to, you're the one that'll land in trouble.

If Amazon did have a ban of third party sellers then the only way you can get AGC with BTC would be private sales, am i right? Does bitpay still work for purchasing AGC?

i can't find a reason myself. and it only applies to amazon america and canada. you can buy gift cards for other branches of amazon just fine.

the amazon US gift card option is still in the copay wallet and there's no message about it being stopped.

If you're talking about the possibility to get a buyer using a stolen card, then, I am not going to say it's impossible, but it's very hard now. They link your IP to a card, if you try to use a card you usually don't need, they will make the life hard for you. So hard that even if you're the legit owner of the card they won't let you use it easily. Not even talking about using a prepaid VVC

It's not the money I care about. It's the fact that I put a lot of volume through my Amazon account, a lot of which comes from gift cards. My concern is about my Amazon account being associated with multiple frauds over time and having it closed (or worse).

they're pretty quick to shut things down, their cards were gone and everyone was told ASAP, so i'd be surprised if they'd leave it in there. i'd certainly email them before buying anything though.
