Well, after some haggling I was able to settle with TradeFortress for 199.383xbt. While it's a pretty terrible outcome, at least I can put this mess behind me, and hopefully preserve my purchasing power in the face of the volatile bitcoin market.
I'll continue to update this thread, but any legal action will have to come from another party, as I no longer have any stake in the matter.

These were the transactions;
e1ec1cb240ba9eac5e845fb8cd342372cb00b307d1b845307b2666d1e8a9d010
c2da4a08c7f01f4ca599ab75594d3510abffa0db0f52a1c4f0349eded37cc772

Perhaps as a result of this deal TradeFortress can offer a better proportion of your deposits back.

By their (dumb) fruits shall ye know them indeed...

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

The 199.383 XBT was in CL or inputs?

That's 20%. If you invested in CL, and everyone defaulted, then given the depreciation of most of the securities, that's about what I'd expect and is fair, or at least tolerable.

How did you negotiate that? I'm trying to get a hint if that was an offer TF made to keep you quiet, or that's an offer you made to cut your losses.

I do not believe one second that Tradefortress has anything to do with the thieves.

I believe Tradefortress simply underestimated the challenges of securing a bitcoin wallet.

He should be doing what Instawallet did, i.e set up a claim process with a time limit and refund everyone who files a valid claim on time.
IW managed to remain solvent but if Tradefortress did not, he could at least do partial refunds.

I'd be interested in continuing pursuing a lawsuit as well. I'm from the US and had ~116 BTC at coinlenders.

...

He went on and on about how inputs.io was massively secure, then kept the whole wad in a hot wallet on Linode?

I don't think you are that stupid Boussac.  Unfortunately, this points back to the conclusion I'd prefer not to draw.  Namely that you are a crook.  And if you are not a crook, you are far to naive and clueless to be holding any money for anyone.

I wonder if lawsuits like these will hit the news.
Also, as TF is only 18, how the hell is he going to pay for these?

He is leaving people with no option but to go to Australia! It's crazy.

He does not communicate with his investors, just stays quiet and hopes for the best.

Can only refund Inputs.io now, which you don't have any other than 0.0005.

There will be automated systems for CL.

Hi, we have sad news..

Due to major hacks, Inputs does not have enough BTC to repay everyone fully. We're dividing up the coins we do have left based on a sliding scale, and have sent it to the specified address. On your Inputs account, your balance should have flipped to the negative to indicate you've received a refund.

We apologize sincerely for the lost Bitcoins. It's been a very hard lesson for us, and we're sorry that we have to pass it onto our users. Please respond to the email if you have any queries.
