I used Polo a long time ago, probably about a year and a half at this point (that's a long time in the crypto world) For my recent trades, I've fully left Polo and have went into Binance. Though I haven't heard of anyone talking about Polo - the only time I do hear it though is people complaining about it. Is Polo dead? I know at one point it was controlling most of the market.

Talk about a fall from grace. From riches to rags as an exchange I guess

Most probably, too many issues and unsolved of customer reports/tickets will eventually deflect to this. Though there are some who still using this exchange and will still be at the top as most used exchange and has most active users together with bittrex. But I still prefer Binance and bittrex.

This exchange died last year, when it began blocking users and not giving money.
I'm even glad that I did not use it.

this is what happens to most exchanges out there. Poloniex is not dead yet but like many of them, they grew too big and started earning a lot of money that they stopped caring about customers because they thought they were going to  continue making that much money even if they gave their users a hard time or even scammed them like what bittrex did.
this always opens up market for competition to swoop in and replace them. that is what Binance did. they will probably do the same thing and be replaced by another new exchange in a year or so!

Polo is not dead but people afraid they will have problem if they use it because very very weak customer support.

I also stopped using polo last year, I was one of the earliest polo users used it in very early 2014.

Polo can be back to track if they upgrade their customer service and ticket response times.

As far as I know Poloniex has been recently acquired by a corporation somehow connected to Goldman Sachs. I guess they will probably do a lot of changes for Poloniex, perhaps even rebranding it.

I personally think not much will happen with Poloniex itself, and that the most likely scenario will indeed be that Circle will end up rebranding that exchange. It may even be that they were only interested in the SEC's approval/registration and Poloniex's trading engine to have that later on applied to their own trading platform. It wasn't all that long ago where Goldman Sachs was throwing around with their plans to build their own trading desk, and it might be something they will actually work on later on. It's impossible to think that Circle will be used as proxy to purchase an exchange for $400 million that is only losing importance in this market -- there definitely has to be more to it.

Yes, Circle acquired POLO : https://blog.circle.com/2018/02/26/circle-acquires-poloniex/

But its almost a month now but POLO still ranks 20th as per coinmarketcap https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/. I agree with many of the posters here, I have totally abandoned trading in POLO since last year when their support becoming worst by the day. Sad though that they used to be one of the top trading exchanges before, but they were not good protecting their user based that's why they lost so much in this cut-throat business. I do hope though that circle can make things around (no pun intended) so that they can at least regain their status again.

Since Polo was acquired by Circle there has been a turnaround in activity, more than half of the pending support tickets for instance have been taken care of. I think the quality of service will be restored in a few months

Don't think it's s dead, it's just because of the few problems that they are experiencing that is why most traders are leaving it for the better exchanges. Nobody wants a platform where their money will hang for days without being accessible or a slow or low functioning support unit. They should have learnt from Bittrex, how they  loss many traders just because of their mistake

I've been withdrawing the maximum amount each day since they updated their terms. It doesn't help that it's been 4 months and I'm still only tier 1. I think it will be solved here soon and up and running. It's been an hour and a half at this time. If not welcome to the best tax break you're going to get this year.

Not yet , but it seems to have a lot of issues , may be that's why it's been sold to some other company , customers are important , and if they can't solve the issues of customers or answer too late to tickets , would lost them and become like this!

The only time you'll ever likely hear about an exchange is either when site functionalities are not working (deposits, withdrawals) or when the support team is not helping out to sort issues. Poloniex still remains an established exchange but trade volumes going down is a big indication that people are moving onto better stuff.

It's not finished yet because there is not any information verifying that it is dead. But I think Poloniex will die if it does not improve what it does not do at present. Polo's support team often does not work and skips reports from users. Poloniex often poses too many high requirements to be listed on it.

Poloniex ain't dead but it is still marred by issues which have made customers migrate to other exchanges.

One would have expected that the acquisition by Circle will bring back some life to the exchange, yet we still read complaints of customers having their withdrawal delayed for weeks. Though it is still early to expect any radical change from circle but people should be seeing gradual improvements weeks after acquiring polo instead it is complaints.

I wont say it is dead.
But this could be one reason.
Binance have been popular so a lot of polo users could have migrated there.
Bots also. There are many bot users now, if the ones who migrated could be the owners of it then it could lose some activity with polo.
But to conclude it, that is still one hell of a strong trading website.

I do not use poloniex to trade coins but my friend shared to me that Poloniex is a good exchange. However, I did not use because I've heard an issue about poloniex a couple months ago. Instead of using this exchange, I used kucoin in the first time of my trading. And I think it is better than poloniex.

I also been using poloniex before i do like them since they platform is a good and friendly user but today i was heard so many bad essue in to there support service. I dont think if this is the end of there career since poloniex already made a lot of money in cryptocurrency.

This exchange died last year, when it began blocking users and not giving money.
I'm even glad that I did not use it.
The bad thing is that any cryptocurrency exchange can stop withdrawing money from investors and nothing under the law can be done.
