to me it sounds more like beeing affraid of bitcoin and april 15.

What happens on April the 15 ?

Chaina forbids chinese banks to payout transactions that involve crypto.... It has already started.... Havent you noticed BTC price drop?
The price drop is KnC Sam dumping 1000 BTC every day on the small exchanges.
Blame that fucktard - not China.

we aint blaming noone it is just the way it is...... atm
No it isn't. The way it is, is that KnC mines about 1/4 of the network and dumps all their BTC on the exchanges every day.

no it isn't. KnC was mining 5 days ago, 10 days ago, a month ago and 3 months ago etc etc etc and the price was not dropping like this in a short period of time.. If it is easier to blame them for this be my guest I dont really care but speculations on april 15. started this mess.... Anyways date is near so wi will see.

Listen to Kano.  He's right.  KNC is the dumping whale right now.

Not to be the FUD train and hijack this, but seriously people, pop the idealistic bubble and look at the real world.

Trading activity and behavior changed significantly after Gox shut down.  Until then, multiple exchanges could easily be used for the pump/dump fraud scheme that the evidence is pointing towards Gox pulling to try and save itself.  Who knows if there were other players riding that wave.  Now people are very timid to purchase because the only thing you hear is bad news about BTC and how it is harder and more annoying to use every single week.  The Chinese exchanges see major activity mainly because they have low to no fees, meaning margin trading is huge.  I only do my trading on Chinese exchanges now because of this.

Otherwise, nobody new is buying in, so when Sam dumps on the market, the market takes it and the price continues to go down because there is no confidence in it going up.  Why should it?  These are the growing pains of a technology, where the a-hole companies like BFL, Avalon and their chip drama, KNC, etc., will all cash out in the short term, but the net result is reliable companies like Bitmain who have been consistently delivering could be in a world of shit from the gov't blowback.  After all, if BTC only brings bad press, why should gov't treat it friendly?

+1

I can't believe people are still purchasing miners form KnC even though they are competing against their customers and most probably used their funds for the preordered machines to fund their Data Centre. They are technically stealing from you...

Bitmaintech is SOLD OUT! where do we get machines now?

Hopefully, this will be temporary. Maybe a few days time.

I've seen this happen a few times these last few months...must be selling out pretty fast...as they are VERY popular units (IMHO).  I'm sure Bitmain has a pretty great supply chain situation.

I just PM Mr. Bitman last night.  I need order more, too!

I'm just totally impressed how I got my most recent order of Ants in like 4 calendar days!!  Un-effing believable!

well, there IS this little website called eBay...  Grin

Also, try minersource.net.

Lastly, rumor has it Bitmain is culling it's S1 inventory and discontinuing S1 production in favor of the S2.

thats my assumption. We are at the point where the size and weight of the S1 to run at 2w/gh is unneccessary. The S2 is much denser hashing speeds and is rack-mountable (the most common S1 complaint).

presumably/hopefully there is an S3 coming in May that will be able to use a smaller chip design to further improve speeds and density

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Well the S2 is just an S1 with more chips per GH/s and the chips slowed down to get the W/GH down.
So unless they decided that the S1 chip is the end of the work for them, they certainly must be working on a next gen chip ...

Dear Bitmain,

I have a confirmed and paid order from the 15th of March, for an S1 Miner.
You have failed to deliver in your 1 week shipping statement, and I have numerous attempts to contact you through Facebook, Email, etc... and I am yet to receive any reply or contact from you.

I request a refund of my purchase, now in the corresponding BTC value paid at the time.

I read somewhere that Bitmain will sell 40nm miners in April and 28nm miners in July. The price of S2 batch 3 will be reduced much?

Been hearing that rumor for a few months now; however, I think it's still all just vaporware IMHO.

I've got a customer of mine that needs to purchase 3 more to complete their rig requirements. This lack of communication from The Bitman, himself is having me to pursue the other option.  I'd actually rather go with Mr. Bob over at Minersource than with someone on eBay.  Mr. Bob has more credibility and his markup on the Ants is much more reasonable compared to those blokes on eBay! Just my two bits worth...

300GH is rapidly becoming a very small hashrate - even now thats only about $15/day.

When the S1 came out it was 4.75 BTC (at about $800/BTC). If it was actually in stock it would probably be only 0.8BTC now (at $440/BTC). hopefully it makes sense that the new solution costs $3700 right now, since in 2 months it will be down to $2000

IMO bitmain is doing it right by moving to a biger design. The S1 units are great, but with some tweaks the S2 looks fantastic-er

They were so close on the S2. Their big mistake was using PCI-type connectors to hold the cards in place. You just can't ship systems like that. The S1 was perfect because each board was firmly bolted to the frame.

better bracing, like some sort of cross-beam/rods would probably be enough. however, it looks like the cards have little plastic slots/rails that were not sturdy enough to prevent wobble and flex.

Is it actually a PCI connection or a PCI-e 16x?  I am interested in getting some extenders when my unit arrives in order to see if theres any way to force a bit of extra speed if its given better cooling and another 600W

So...do we know for sure?  Is the S1 permanently out of stock at Bitmain or is this just a temporary out of stock condition?

I PM'd the Bitmeister here a few days ago asking him about the out of stock situation on the S1s, additional S1 coupons and getting a Bitmain T-shirt.

He replied back answering only one of my questions - and that was about the T-shirt (which is still in production)!  LoL!

  Cheesy

Unless they are really gone and no mas, they'll probably "86" it on the homepage!

If I don't see an update on the Bitmain site by Monday or Tuesday, then I'll just head over to Bob's Mineersource website (http://minersource.net/)!  He's awesome, his pricing is reasonable and he's got them in stock (for now)!  Maybe, he'll hook me up with a free Bitmain T-Shirt! hahaha
