I am planning to buy S3 batch 8 from Bitmain's website.  Has it been all good experience lately or are there horror stories?

I've bought from BFL before and they kinda ruined me so I have to be cautious.

There's one horror story:

Take into consideration before buying.

It's included in the price.  At least that's what it says right on the Bitmain site  Huh

This is correct, the shipping is included in the price.  US residents should generally expect a 2-day transit time once the product has been delivered to the carrier.

One thing i found out with Bitman.  Call there Denver Colorado office, they do have a 888 toll free number,  there support is excellent.  They were awesome to work with and were able to send a replacement warranty part and all is good.  They have access to software uodates that work and can assist via remote connection also.

Bitmain has my business.

Being a IT company owner for 29 years now, i have seen good and bad.  I have no patience for hardware vendors that do not support there products.  I can assure you Bitmain has been great with me.

Start mining other coins and dont bother with bitcoins the boat has sailed one might say, hope that the value of other coins goes up or dump lots of money on hardware to keep up with the difficulty increase.

energy_vortex, in your case it's better and faster to send an e-mail to Bitmain... info@bitmaintech.com

Bitmain, do you plan to release a new version of firmware for S2 (which could include latest cgminer with all possible optimisations and improvememts) and S3 (which could in addition be more fast (i mean user interface now, but if this new FW will rise hashing speed.....), convenient and stable)? Please don't forget about aftersales support... And yes, maybe once again - about GPL terms.  Cool

In addiction to your question:

Does anyone knows or advice a power supply with around 2000W and with several PCIe to connect more than 1 antminer S3? I saw it in a forum but i lost the link. Its much more pratical as i dont need to have a room full of psu's.
thanks.

I believe what you saw was a Server PSU with a custom breakout board and there are plenty of people who use that setup. It works very well BUT if you don't now what you are doing with custom wiring you can start a fire REALLY QUICK !!!!!!!!!

So if i wanted to push the clock on the S3 up the EVGA would only really power 1 overclocked and 1 standard clock am i correct?

Also for me that power supply is £155, I can get 6 of the 750w ones for £230 (inc shipping) and its a 1:1 overclocked as they come with 4 x 6pin plugs on each, i have three S3+ on order now and want to get three more later on (funds allowing) so i was going to buy 6 now (shipping from hong kong)

So basically they cost less to acquire than the EVGA one and they support overlclocking of the units as well.

Power efficiency is important if you plan on using 1 year or more, the EVGA can make it back.  And better re sell value.

1000 watts use with Gold versus Plus PSU saves 100 watts per hour,   at 24/7 for 1 year is $140.00 usd savings if your electricity cost is .16/kw

Those server based PSU's are some of the most efficient it does depend on the power supply of course but they have to be due to fixed limits on power for servers when in datacentres and colocation.

I agree that maybe it has better sell on value than the modified one but I definately want to overclock and price for buying the hardware is bad in the UK, i know that the system can support 3 of them from one PSU but thats without overclocking, i dont know how much power extra is required per unit.
