Winner of this year, ETH or BTC?

Hello everyone!

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

In my own opinion I think no one can overtake BTC.BTC is always a leader in this cryptocurrency.But ETH is always be second in BTC no  other altcoins can  surpass this to gaint coins in crypto world.

this year will win friendship)) I think that this year we will not see significant movements in the market. The new bullrun will not begin until the spring of 2019

I do not think that btc will be overtaken by any altcoin out there in the nearer future. btc is the one who started it all

 How can Eth be the winner of this year when the value of ETH is far less than BTC I'm the market. Bitcoin is still taking the lead in the crypto world.

I don't think that ETH will be able to beat bitcoins on all counts, both of these coins are imperfect, each has its own flaws, but along with all this no other coin will bypass bitcoin to take the lead to itself. The most recognizable and popular cryptocurrency is bitcoin, it builds a lot, and it also has tremendous support and the trust of a huge number of investors.

For me currently nobody is a winner. In last time we see only falls so for me both coins are loser, but now we have august, still have 4 months left so everything can be change

In my opinion, if I am asked about this year's winner then I still drop my choice on bitcoin. Indeed, bitcoin is still a very potential coin for the short term, although in the long run, I think that ethereum will be more potential. When viewed technologically at this time ethereum is already better than bitcoin. But ethereum hasn't gotten public trust and popularity as high as bitcoin so ethereum still occupies its position under bitcoin. Bitcoin as the king of crypto currencies still holds great control over the price of crypto currencies. All crypto currency prices are under the influence of bitcoin prices.

Crypto-currencies work or function only because it is deemed to have value by all, same is true for bitcoin as well as other coins that come after it.Since bitcoin is clearly the leader in terms of the value people place on it, it deserves to be number one.

When the final quarter of the year begins we can come to know about the winner of the year. Till then, it is impossible to come to a conclusion. Importantly by the end of September we've got a big event which has got the potential to change the entire market scenario of the cryptocurrency network, over which the winner can be found.

I think that the etherium has a great chance of growth, because the price of $ 290 is very small for such a coin, I think so, but you should not forget about bitcoin

Bitcoin is always a safe bet, since many other currencies have their price on a par with this one, besides being the first coin that comes to mind when people talk about cryptos, no matter how enthusiastic they may be about ETH I think bitcoin will end up better off, that doesn't mean that ETH will not end well, only that the value of bitcoin will increase exponentially.

As long as bitcoin is still on the top till the end of this year, it still the winner. Many altcoins including ethereum still follow the price movements of bitcoin and mostly can't go up with the top coin is down. But if ethereum manage to go up continuously whatever the price of the bitcoin is, then it might possibly overtakes bitcoin several moths from now. The price of the second ranked cryptocurrency is still below $300 and it usually take time for the coin the to go up again unless something positive will happen in the market soon.

Yes, definitely bitcoin will always be in the top, this year ico is very large blown away, many projects collect small money on their ico, because of this, many sell eth

for me i would say that, bitcoin has and would always be the best bet anytime anyday. so many ico's have evolved and most of them sell in ETH, so probably i can say that thus far, ETH is up there but bitcoin is just always on top of it all.

I still always think that bitcoin will always be the winner. I do not know when Bitcoin experienced a downward price, why are there still many people who really want bitcoin. bitcoin really has gone crazy.

Bitcoin is nowhere reaching its limit, however this year ETH is crushed, the bitcoin dominance is the proof, when ETH falling on its price the market capital will automatically be less and less by that bitcoin dominance increasing.
However, ETH could still surpass bitcoin, only if the total supply x price = more than what bitcoin capital is having now.
