I just got $250 in BTC for a bug bounty. What should I do with it? Hold, or invest elsewhere?
I already bought 8 ETH a few weeks ago.

In need of advice. Don't really know how to get into crypo, but I definitely want to. Could somebody point me in the right direction?

Edit: Also, can somebody enlighten me as to what /r/BTC and /r/Bitcoin disagree on? I've looked at both sides, but I honestly still don't know what both sides are.

I think you have already got in the crypto. The amounts which you mentioned are really good and I think you should hold your coins in this term, because the prices are still down. In my opinion, you should just wait for your profit. Good luck!
While holding your coins for a long-term investment, you can also give some of your time engaging in bounty campaigns for more earnings. While you are waiting for your profit by holding them, you will also have another earnings from your rewards in bounties. You still have a lot of things to be learn in this crypto world so keep on learning and exploring new things.

I think you should aim to buy and sell crypto, because if you do not have a target then we will be thirsty with crypto

just like its thing i have a target with buying and selling when profit 10% then enough.

Now i decided to write down some basic advice to avoid mistakes.

1) only play with money you can afford to lose.

2) NEVER EVER make a buy or sell that is triggered by a feeling of 'not wanting to miss out on a sudden development'. also known as fomo: fear of missing out. Invariably, you will make bad decisions if you do.

3) never buy on a sudden upswing. Especially if you don't know why it's swinging up. You may be buying into a hype curve triggered by other people's fomo. When that happens, you'll lose big in the correction that follows. The one exception is if you see a spike and then also find a good reason. When segwit was finally locked in for bitcoin, all the uncertainty ended and the price shot up for a very good reason. Jumping on that train can be a good decision.

4) when you finally take a profit and sell, walk away. Don't keep looking at the price. If you do and you see it going beyond the sell price, you may be tempted to jump in again and take a bit more profit. Not only do you pay 2 extra transaction fees, but you will also risk buying into an overshoot which corrects 2 minutes later, and you lose the profits you realized 5 minutes earlier.

5) understand that by playing carefully and with consideration, you may actually miss an occasional coin suddenly increasing in price. that is not to be helped. However, it also means that you are not making a lot of blind gambles that will cost you a lot of money.

6) do some research, and only buy into projects for which you actually understand the purpose and which you believe may work in real life. a coin needs more than fanboys shills to be valuable long term.

7) be very carefull when buying during a time period when there is a lot of euphoria and all coins are going strong. If the entire market is going strong, all coins do well, even the shitty ones

Cool learn to recognize pump and dump cycles and avoid them. the saying in poker is: if you don't know who the sucker is, it's you. don't be the sucker.

9) look at the long term prices and use baselines, triangles and fibonaci and try to think of what you think the correct value to buy is. with some basic effort you can figure it out and set the buy order and walk away.

10) Do NOT try to play the game of buying and selling dips. buy dips if you want to play that game, but don't sell with the idea of buying back shortly after to game the dip. this is a good recipe for disaster. If you were holding NEO 2 days ago when it was 0.0039 BTC and sold with the idea of buying back at 0.0033, you'd be cursing yourself badly now that it shot up to 0.0064

11) when buying, don't just look at the timeline, also look at the order book. If you see big sell walls that are not balanced by buy walls, it may be better to wait for the price to drop some more.

12) doing the things above takes time and consideration. you will miss out from time to time by waiting to long, but you will also not make catastrophic errors. Also long as your positions are string, you can continue to keep playing the game.

Ok this was more than I had planned to write down, and nothing in it was rocket science, but it may help beginners. I surely did not start making decent profits until I started doing this.

large number of numbers. My advice, carefully first before investing, see the risks and benefits to be obtained should not all be invested but the remaining 50% for the remaining reserve funds

I would recommend investing those $250 in BTC and participate in other bounties with all rewards being transferred to BTC.
When you reach at least 2 BTC you can think of investing them in some promising ICO (by the way, you can do the same with your 8 ETH).
Just monitor the Marketplace section and familiarize yourself with the ongoing projects.

Hold it. Bitcoin is a good investment despite of being with high volatility environment. In other words, hold it maybe one day it will become $2500. While you are waiting for the day to come Research more about how to trade and investing in the market, maybe it will multiply even more. The higher the risks the greater the rewards. Who  knows, one day your $250 becomes $25000. Just Do your own research.

Its better to research through this forum and read the posts of the meritorious people around here... Don't just ask for investment option or to hodl it as many new Launching projects will lure with attractive schemes to invest into their projects... So you should instead use your own mind and its good that you have already purchased 8 Eth. Its better to keep the ratio 1:1 for both Bitcoin and Eth...

My advice for a crypto beginner is that you have to be familiarized with the terms and definitions like blockchain, mining, selling, buying. Read articles, stories about bitcoin. It will give them a wide view about bitcoin and cryptocurrency and you will learn a lot of information about it.

r/btc is full of people who support only Bitcoin Cash. R/Bitcoin is the rest. I won't tell you more because some people might start arguing with me. You should see it in your own. It looks like you are into Ethereum. Not a bad choice, it has a huge potential to increase in value. You could spend some of ETH to buy some other popular altcoins or Bitcoin. It will be much safer for you especially that you have quite a lot money in crypto.

The tips are quite simple, the first is that you do not need to invest all your savings so that as bitcoin can fall and restore your position for a long time, you need to learn all the information about bitcoin and be aware of all the news about bitcoin

I've looked at both sides, but I honestly still don't know what both sides are.
hold will be the best choice for this big dump bitcoin and ethereum is good in holding this year because some prediction said that the price of bitcoin will rise up to 50k$ this year and ethereum price will be 3k$. me im hoping to this prediction thats why i buy more coins now.

Be confident to yourself that you can do your best and earn profits according to what you expect. If you are smart to take advantage of the situation then it will be a plus. For a principiante then performing various actions by contando will help you, it will make you add experience and also habilidad train that you have. Investing is in dire need of trying to try, if you do not have it then do not ever expect the people to be successful.

In my opinion you should hold it because bitcoin is will be more powerful in the next few months or before the end of the year.
It's only my opinion and you should don't base your decision on what we say because it's very risky you need to do more research.

You have 8 ETH and $250 worth of bitcoin.

1 word, HOLD.

But if you are looking for more and better opportunities and you are willing to take a risk. Why not sell half of your ETH for bitcoin? This is a worth to take risk but it's your money and the decision goes to you.

Advice for the beginners is that just be wise and be patient. Cause not all the time the market is high sometimes it low, like today. Do not sell it in a very low price.
