Russia accepts cryptocurrencies. This is not a good news. Everyone knows that the most widely used Ethereum is a Russian project, so it is not surprising that Russia accepts cryptocurrencies. The current economic situation in Russia is very bad and requires cryptocurrencies to help them.

The Russian government will not obstruct or object to anything rigidly, but will instead seek to study the trend of cryptocurrency, thereby building a system of regulations that are consistent with it.

the role of this country is not the most important in cryptocurrencies, but it can serve as an example for other countries. Why not?
I agree with you that the role of Russia is not very important, it is not China or USA, they can only think out some laws to restrict common people to use crypto.

Russian cryptocurrency market is so small that any positive changes in this country do not affect world market so I think that we should not rejoice at this news. Besides we are not talking about full legalization and the free circulation

I have read that Russia is working on creating its own cryptocurrency. There has been even a meeting between Vitalik and Putin. I am not surprised if something like this happens.

The government of any country can first accept crypto, then reject or even restrict it.

I see already the second topic in which it is spoken about the legalization of cryptocurrencies in Russia. A package of laws on cryptocurrencies has been postponed in the Russian parliament until at least the autumn. And if it will be adopted, it is only in the part about the taxation of miners and traders. There was no legalization, and will not be under this authority, since the position of the Central bank and the Ministry of Finance of Russia is sharply negative.

I am optimistic that some countries will also follow suit. I also just read today that Russia is about to tax crypto traders and miners. Well, i think Russia is fully set to do as said and it will also boost their economy. The tax to be collected will raise their GDP. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Well I live in Russia and I don't see any changes. A year ago the Central Bank of Russia declared that they don't want to legalize cryptocurrencies.

Well let us see what happens next. If Russia is open to the current trend which is digital currency so maybe other countries might follow. Much more if they will see that Russia will become progressive through digital currency.

Russia is a very volatile country what they want to do change from day to day. You should read the book the fundamentals of geopolitics to understand better, but it is only written in Russian. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)

I, too, have the same opinion. Under the current government of Russia, there will be no legalization of the currency in full. This government does not give freedom to its people. If the laws are adopted, then only to limit or prohibit the circulation of the crypto currency or to establish taxation on a semi-legal Crypto currency. Therefore, it is not worth hoping for Russia as a large market for crypto currency.

For more than a year they have been taking something and would not accept it at all. Everything is decided by something. Von Belarus for a long time has resolved and has gone towards krypto. I think Russia will solve it soon, too.

It is very good news for overall cryptoworld that can bring money on the market and stabilize situation. But real effect will be too small because Russian economy is not so strong.

I think we are beginning to see the positive effect of some countries like Russia, coming to adopt cryptocurrency. No wonder, the world cup just ended recently gives a clear indication that truly, Russia is a crypto country.
Dont understand why the World Cup 18 (that was great) indicates Russia is a Crypto counnty? ) Crypto is not a legal payment tool in Russia, afaik, just a couple of crypto ATM in some big cities.

As we see now, this news has not had a big impact on the situation on the market. Although this is good news. The issue with the cryptocurrency is slowly being solved, it remains to deal with the taxes.
