It really is hard to believe that there are some ICOs who are intended to scam people. There are all hypocrits and rely on the weakness of people especially those who are new to bitcoin. So sad.
And that is the more reason why potential investors most be on the look out for these scam projects that has nothing to offer than cart away with innocent contributor's funds. No matter the number of years one has been involved in crypto business, one can still fall victims of these scam projects because they will surely come in form of a real project.

And now such ICOs are more than really good projects. So you need to be able to choose good projects. And the main thing is not to make hasty decisions in the market.

This is true. The best scam projects look good and feel right at the beginning, some can keep up the facade for months and months (think LightPay / Logis coin). The "cheap" scam projects are usually easy to spot. Flashy graphics with little to no substance, no real plan other than "large profits for early adopters". Often they throw in a lot of catchy words. For example, right now, DEX is a popular catchword, so that will be thrown into the imaginary roadmap.

The best thing to do is ask, "does this SMELL fishy? does it LOOK fishy?"

Then ask what makes this project different from all the other projects being released right now.

today, in the cryptocurrency market, ico companies are coming out not only scammers, but also ico companies with very bad projects that are not of much interest for investors. Thus projects do not develop and do not attract investors' funds, and because of this, everyone who has paid attention to this project suffers.

There are so many scam coins that if someone wants to invest there is a higher chance that you are going to invest in a scam coin instead of a good one, which makes it so risky to invest in coins right now. I prefer to stay away from the new coins since so many of them are scams, better to invest in coins which are already established as good coins.

Blockchain technology (with its cryptocurrencies ) is a blessing to the common people due to ability to earn good profits with little or sometimes no investment (steemit for example). However, crypto space is also fraught with scam / shit coins everywhere especially those new coins/tokens with no visible team , ponzi nature and no contact information’s. Therefore, is it not a good time to have some correction in the crypto space in order for the scams to die off (at least some of them) and then the real project bounce back.

there are many factors that affect it, not only because of fraud but also from ICO that do not reach hardcap or softcap which are at risk of harming investors and bounty hunters. even though coins have been distributed, coins will still not be of good value

In fact, today there are really many projects that look very good, but you might think that this project is very similar to scam, it seems to me that today it is becoming more and more relevant, especially if you think about it. But of course, before calling this project a scam project, you need to bring a lot of proofs

Better invest in top 10 coins , not ICO , ICO are only pump dump and trash. The inflation of eth tokens are irrational. So the price will be worthless. Look now After ICO, a coin will worth under ICO price without bounty hunters. How can it happens? Because  the coin is nothing, just to attract stupid investors.

If you are new to something you should not invest into something which you do not understand right? Why they are investing into ICOs if they cant accept risk? If they even cant find which ICO is good or not?

That's  the main reason why some investors chose to avoid cryptocurrency because they don't want to get scammed by some ico and lose some of their money. I hope some institutions will take action to reduces the scam ico.

Lack of knowledge and without doing research investing money in ICO and startup is great risk. Before putting money in new projects, ICO people should be research the project background and team members their whitepaper etc.. Also potential of the project too....  lot of new ICO everyday coming, lot of coin etc.. So we must aware about it.... Well this is a Crypto community so if we found something scam project then we should to make people aware about it..

Knowledge is the best key of protecting yourself from scammers..

Because they want quick and easy money from ICOs.They don't care about all teams, project, or anything else as long as they can make money. Of course there is a big chance they got scammed, but as you can see right now, there are lot of ICOs everyday and it's very hard to detect which are scam ICOs and not.

If they have some new people new here in bitcoin ,better to inform them about the ICO or Coin who are scam because they knowledge is not enough. Better also everyone to be careful of what coin we invested because there is a lot of scam coin everywhere and we don't know what among them is real and not or good to invest or not.

That is true, I advise newbie in crypto to spend time and do research first about crypto and blockchain before coming in. 2018 is not a good year for crypto and there are a lot of scam ICO who are waiting for their victims, specially those who have a little knowledge of how crypto works.

The current status of the market today is very different to what the last year is. ICO's before are not that many but most of it is legit, but when time passes, there are more and more ICO's appearing with so pleasing projects. Many of us are deceived but take in mind that most of it is a Scam. Believe it or not, I think, 80% of ICO's today are SCAMS.
