Like not really failed but there is much more competitors on the market like Altcoins, ICO, Token Sale. Actually, I have heard about one which is Socratus. It is a platform for insurance companies that was created in order to make the communication between customer and insurance company more convenient and simple. It helps to get read of annoying personal meetings and paperwork. With this ecosystem, companies will be able to cut operating costs, create new insurance products, deal with data analysis more efficiently and many other benefits.

I also think that as an independent full-fledged crypto currency, bitcoin did not take place. It has a very large number of system limitations and problems that simply can not afford to have the world's most used currency ... well, or the crypto currency, it does not matter.
So we are waiting for some other decentralized currency ... much more perfect in the technical sense

When all bitcoin's imperfections are corrected, States will accept it as a currency, then we can go beyond investing in bitcoin and use it for its intended purpose.
If the issue with bitcoins like the approval of the bitcoin etf will be positive then the states will accept bitcoin and it will give bitcoin a higher chance to experience a massive adaption because its technology is one time big time, so it means that there is no reason for them to just ignore bitcoin because they might miss the opportunity that will make them millionaire.

I don't believe that bitcoin will fail as a currency because bitcoin already have built a strong foundation and is trusted by some investors.

For me it is too early to say that and We can't say this thing right now because the future are still bright with bitcoin. Yeah, for now a lot of black propaganda just to ruins bitcoin reputation but I still believe in the future of this thing, bitcoin will become a major currency in the future. This is just the beginning.

I dont  think BTC can be considered a failed currency already, the crypto technology is just taking shape in the market and BTC has been leading the charge taking all the negatives of the whole technology, the coin has not been given a fair chance to thrive, an we aren't in the crypto era just yet, so we cannot say the technology has failed, BTC still has lots of room to realize its potential

Bitcoin will fail but likely go down in history but as a great technological invention that popularized blockchain yet failed due to its design limitations.

While bitcoin is currently considered a currency, there are still many countries that do not allow bitcoin trading as well as other coin. So bitcoin is really bigger and is considered a "speculative asset". It takes a long time and most importantly Bitcoin must be really stable, then the role of Bitcoin will really change. I think so.

With its fluctuating nature, it will be hard for bitcoin to be a globally accepted currency. I'm not saying bitcoin fails as a currency, just to achieve it may take a relatively long time.

I don't think bitcoin is failure currency because it has great value and many people put venture to it. I know bitcoin's price fluctuates so often but it does not mean that it failed already, it's just nature of bitcoin to fall sometimes. Bitcoin may fall but it will comeback strong as ever so bitcoin is really a successful currency on my opinion.

I don't think it has failed yet. BItcoin is still just 9 years since it was made. Let's just give it time and see it it will indeed be what it was intended for.

Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

Actualy  bitcoin has beed use already as a currency anywhere around the world but the problem is there are so many want to use this coins and hold for long time like an asset thats why more people realy seek bitcoin that they are willing to buy it even in a high price and thats the reason why bitcoin failed as a currency for now.

For me, bitcoin did not fail as a currency now. Bitcoin is the most used cryptocurrency in the world. I think it fails because of the people who buy bitcoin and make it as an asset so many people are seeking bitcoin and they sell it in a high price.

This will change in the long term because due to the improvement and the development marketing strategies sellers main goal to provide more and more payment methods to consumers has been very popular and it has been considered as a major competitive advantage for an organization no matter what the industry is which is why we see many cryptocurrenceis are introduced targeting major businesses so in the future we will see much use and purpose for cryptocurrency than today

The actual utility has just started. Today, Coinbase announced that its users can use BTC for paying Uber in Australia and EU. We are a part of initial community. For anything to be used as currency, its popularity and usage need to increase. So that, the transactions can become easier and there is no fear of price going to zero because of no demand. BTC has a huge user base now. It can be used successfully as a currency today and so is happening slowly and steadily.

How do you think will the future of Bitcoin look like? Do you think it will be better again? I'm like a lot of people I guess very skeptical... but who knows, currently really don't know what to think about that... however some online stores do accept bitcoins .... also thinking of buying some once again ... so tell me about your thoughts...

I don’t think bitcoin will become a currency, due to its nature and volatility it is more classified as an asset for many. There might be chance but very slim to make it legal as a currency but it will undergo a very long debate and process.
