If You Had $100 to invest in one Alt-Coin for maximum profit later on, which one would you pick and why? Which Alt-Coin, that isnt even at a tenth of a cent, will possibly go to $1?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Peercoin is the best alt, Litecoin is ahead because its the 'original' alt. This has been discussed to death.

I just wanted to get a clear cut opinion. What about coins such as DigitalCoin, BBQCoin (quirky name might make it decent), CryptoBullion, Devcoin

You can get DeVCoin at probably its lowest price ever or thereabouts right now, and unlike those others you mentioned it is not one of the recent endless stream of scamcoins.

Are any of the others you mentioned even securable blockchains at all, or just scrypt etc waiting for miners to gangbang and/or 51% them?

FRC, DVC, YAC. If there was a sudden interest into Litecoin-type coins people would just get Litecoin. Also forget it if it's already on BTC-e.

Why Devcoin though? Bitcoin can probably do the job of Devcoin just fine in the future.

FRC, DVC, YAC. If there was a sudden interest into Litecoin-type coins people would just get Litecoin. Also forget it if it's already on BTC-e.

What do those coins have over the competition?

CryptoGenicBullion CGB
PeerCoin PPC

CGB does seem like a good investment considering BTC will skyrocket. Been looking at PPC as well.

LOL! me too. It looks like it launched in late June then lost support. Not much action on their forums, the ANN post here is only 35 pages long. Not much happening with eMunie. I didn't even check to see if I can mine it or not. Another one bytes the dust?

What about Protoshares? They seem to have taken off from day 1. For $100.00 you can get about 10 of them.

When you leave BTC for an ALT, you turn crazy as for any ALT there is an ALT ...

I would throw 1$ for PTS, WDC and XPM

Why ? dunno but they have nice names.

What do those coins have over the competition?

FRC and DVC have allegedly a philanthropic purpose of sorts backing them, so for anyone who wants to try cryptos without the 'bad rep' those are there. I.e. if someone wants to bring a crypto guy to a media interview they would likely pick someone from Devcoin.

YAC is fast, ASIC/51% proof coin, with advanced algorithms and a 5% year interest, which makes it all round nicer for spenders and savers. It's also well distributed (the early big accounts have been basically inflated away), and will save energy in the long run due to PoW hashing being progressively harder. Basically is the peak of pure cryptohashing coin development, after that you have to start looking into hybrid coins like Primecoin.

I personally think that YaCoin is the next undervalued cryptocurrency. The scrypt jane is very interesting PoW/PoS and now with the latest N factor change GPU mining is very close vs CPU mining.

eMunie is still very alive and well, and in active development.....but today wasn't the launch of it :S

Ignore the state of the current website, it's being overhauled at the moment, plus we are moving servers and updating a lot of content all over in preparation for the launch in JAN 2014 Smiley

There will be some official announcements this week regarding current status and various other interesting news.

Which one has the best potential to reach $1 in the span of a year?

Once again im torn with Devcoins, since theyre basically a reward system coin for completing programming tasks and such? Bitcoins already do that though, unless Devcoins have a certain innovation..
