Please cast your vote.

I'm hard pressed to think he is legit given all his time spent on responding to comments that are irrelevant to his "investigation". Anyone who takes on such a task would be hard pressed for time and would not dabble in such nonsense at any level.

I fail to see what he would be scamming people out of..

If he's legit, that's cool. If he's not, who cares? He's not hurting anyone.

Help Bitcoins by buying clothes, technology, books, etc. through people/stores that accept BTC. This will increase overall value of BTC as well as mitigate unnecessary bank transaction fees.

Did he ask for money? No. Did he steal anything? No.

All these immediate accusations of SCAMMER! just hurt bitcoin as a whole.

He's not getting or asking for any money from anyone.  How can he be a scammer?

The money that he requested to fund his investigation and other activities? Their personal details? Their time and attention? He kinda derailed any community attempt to deal with MyBitcoin and figure out what happened, not that there was anything much that could be done anyway.

I hope y'all realize that he did have a tag of "scammer" here given to him by the admin/moderators when he refused to pay 1 BTC for artwork he commissioned from another forum member when he went by the name of Bitmole. There is a repeating pattern with this guy of excuses, apologies and claims of ignorance for the actions he takes. Doesn't matter whether it  was in bitmole days or his Matthew N. Wright days.

He doesn't seem malicious to me, but I wouldn't trust him with my time or money because from what I've read he's a tool.

Seriously, this again?  The guys not a scammer, stop this crap already.

Honest question.  Is there more mature bitcoin discussion forum that I'm missing somewhere else?

e.g., mtgox and tradehill discussing the future of exchanges
e.g., bitcoin business try to streamline payment processes.
e.g., a guy tries to help the community with a bitcoin business association...

Or do we just need more power tripping mods to clean this kind of crap out?

Still can't decide if he is a scammer, but it's worth reading, thanks

+1 and yes it is a defamation.

People here too often think that if they don't understand/disagree with something, it's a norm to call them either scammer or troll.
My guess to his motive is that since he's creating a bitcoin business/association, he will need to build good reputation by doing the community a good favor by help resolving this Mybitcoin debacle.

Now, when most people who doesn't read every single thread about this Matthew guy - just briefly surfing the board - will simply associate him with fraud. Thanks you people like you.

He hasn't scammed anyone out of anything so far. But what does concern me is that he did say he had "14" companys on the go, Also wants to hire a privaate investigator without any donations from the community. I dont see how this is possiable and dubt that it would be done, He also stated there are 4 other people working with him on this UABB thin, Once again have yet to see anyone step and say they work with him. Conclusion for he is a little demented and want to be a apart of everything but really is apart of nothing. He did say he was thinking of giving up the investigation due to failing to get info. I think we have an attention seeker on hands, But not a scammer.
