hi i made a simple simulation app and followed the rules of link, where i measured maximum losing streak.. the results are intreresting (made 1 billion of simulations ten times):

- maximum "low" streak: 21
- maximum "high" streak: 19
- invested virtual 1.000.000 satoshis and i bankrupted (because 19 losing streak in 1 satoshi base bet ruined me)

BUT:
i changed the "always hi" / "always lo" to "alternate", the results are surprising:
maximum losing streak was 16
it means, with 1.000.000 satoshis you can make some profit - all day auto betting = around 65.000 satoshi profit

but it can happen, the luck will be very bad for you and you will hit some extreme losing streak

Agreed. But I doubt that the faucet is hurting from this one win. If you think about it, this faucet's sustainability is pretty amazing. You can claim your earnings and let it sit in an account until you're ready to withdraw, or you can use your earnings to try and multiply your earnings. I know of a few users who also use the multiplier as a full-on dice site, which means they actually deposit their own bitcoin into the site, and not just use their earnings. Statistically, the site will win from the dice side of it, which keeps the earnings within the site, rather than paying out all the time to users. Brilliant.

would you mind sharing what your exact parameters were and what kind of app/model you used?

I have been crunching some numbers for myself but it always turns out bad for someone.
For example:  you start with the minimum bet of 1 Satoshi at a payout rate of 2, the probability to win at 47.50 % and you double your bet everytime you lose so that finally you are lucky and win everything back + the 1 Satoshi you started out with.

Assuming a starting capital of 1 048 576 Satoshi after 10000 bets, 97.5 % of the players will have gained between 1 and 10000 Satoshi, while the other 2.5 % will have lost all of their starting balance of 1 048 576 Satoshi.

However this is just a quick Excel calculation and there are still some other factors like alternative paths to consider as in a Monte Carlo simulation.

I would be glad if you might be able to point me to the tool you were using for your sim so I can set up my own full fledged Monte Carlo
