Using MEW with Metamask will be a safer bet. I like MEW as I have bounties so need something that can store those ER20 tokens.

Remember to import your MEW from metamask to avoid using their pre created wallet address.

Doing this allows you to see your balance in Metamask with your original MEW (need to add tokens)

Yes, i am not using metamask anyway, it is more than unsafe for me.

I tried to use it a long time ago and it was a waste of time, it is the same as storing your json on your desktop..

I still use MEW and I am happy with it. I am using Metamask for additional peace of mind. Both together are safe enough in my opinion.

I would not advise using this purse, because it always has some problems .. many times I met people who complain about the inadequacy of the development of this service.

With the recent hack, I assume a lot of people will switch to something else, what do you think?

I still recommend using a hardware wallet over the safety benefits though.
although MEW is indeed vulnerable hacked but until now I still entrust my assets to MEW and have not thought about to change other wallets or even think of exchangers as a tool to store my assets

Most so called hacks of myetherwallet were actually just phishing attacks on inexperienced users who don't use basic safety methods like bookmarking the legit web address and type in their private key into fake copy-website.

Indeed. There's nothing wrong with using MEW, if anything, it's one of the best wallets out there. You're responsible for taking the extra steps needed to stay safe though.

Of course, mew wallet is the most trusted wallet up to date when we are talking about ethereum and erc20 based tokens wallet, though it suffers from attacks ,its platform and date base are still protected which is why im sure it will be safe still with this website/wallet as it is being trusted by the communoty for a long period of time.

Yes, I'm still used until this time. But, since MEW got hacked a while ago I never login with my private key again and I decided using Metamask while login on MEW.
It's too risky now and I don't want to take a risk if login just using private key...

Also, I found alternative MEW called MyCrypto, they have a similar clean user interface and very user-friendly too. But, I don't know why until this time I still loved using MEW...  Grin

You just need to give a report to your actions. You can not rely on the will of the case and send your private key anywhere. You must always be sure that you are on the site you are thinking about.

You can hack everything today absolutely. Because of this, I do not intend to change my MyEtherWallet wallets to any others. Since April 24, when the purse was allegedly cracked, I did not go into my purses using a secret key, so I'm not afraid that they can be hacked. I think the purse team will take the necessary additional security measures and this will not happen again. I still believe that the MyEtherWallet wallet is one of the most reliable purses. I'm used to using it. Especially I like its function etherscan.io, which allows you to view the contents of the wallet at its address without entering into it and the need to use a secret key.

I am more than confident about MEW; but i am always using MyCrypto because it is much more safer for me.

Anyway, i prefer to use my ledger wallet & mycrypto, it is safe enough, and you are NEVER gonna be hacked because it would be impossible.

I only use MEW to transfer ether and tokens, but not for storing tokens due to the problem of phishing site, and as well not safe for storing for a very long time.

I have no doubts about MEW. Never have problems with it and always have been safe for me. I do my best to keep it that way and be careful where I am going and not to go to duplicate sites. I am very confident in MEW.

There are some others alternative wallet else MEW, so i don't think comparing them would be good to discuss because I've been using MEW for some years and still happy using with it so far, as they have provided private keys for every wallet so this can be your backup if there is something happen with them ex sites down, etc. you can restore your coins on another altcoin wallet such as coinomi, exodus, etc.

So after all nothing special and didn't change, those who uses MEW from the Appendix or extensions, the problem with hacking bypassed the party. That's why there's nothing to worry about.

I think MEW is still safe as long as we are able to be careful. Some hackers try to attack us by using fake web addresses. Be careful if anyone recommends the MEW link. Maybe it's a trap to steal all the contents of your wallet.
