There is no doubt about that, the eth remain the closest rival to the bitcoin even though there is still a very huge gap between the bitcoin and the ethereum but there is presently no other altcoin that can stand the strength of the two most populous cryptocurrency. I started to like crypto and being an enthusiast with it lately. I had read many articles around in the internet and found some good attributes regarding on the  different kinds of crypto in the crypto market. Actually, it is believed to be next to bitcoin maybe because of the price increase from the previous years which is proportional with the price increase of Bitcoin. Also, it have already established a large community of users which is important for the long run of a crypto in the market. The popularity of ethereum have also grown due to its involvement in projects particularly with ICOs wherein it is being used as the minimum investment or as such and usually, rewards are sent on eth wallet, which I think has positive effects on ethereum itself.

I agree with you that Ethereum is a worthy coin and that it can safely occupy the second or even the third line of all the tops. However, I would give the second rightful place to Bitcoin cache

It is true, besides that most people use ETH as a transaction tool to join the ICO. So, it can be said that the ETH can be juxtaposed with bitcoin, even though in terms of price it is still too far.

I don't really believe that ETH has much to offer as a best coin. We have better coin to pursue in terms of ROI they have to offer as well as their utility value. ETH might be a good and a popular coin because of its smart contract utility. But it isn't surely the best among the utility coins. We have better coins than ETH when it comes utility and many are still there to come.
