"You can generate the next block in 41 days 21 hours 7 minutes 35 seconds"
Do i really have to wait that long to mine?
My transactions stopped working. I have 15 uncomfirmed. What's going on?

Execution time depends on the amount of your coins. Uncommitted transactions - it is just what you can earn when the unit will be generated.

I'm on linux and doing ctrl-c is actually making it save the block if there is one before it kills. So I guess that's ok. Does that work on Win?

This is a pure PoS system. You need to have some Nxt in your account to do mining. Mining reward is not new coins - only tx fees. You need to buy substantial amount of Nxt to "mine", but positive side is you can mine on your ordinary computer. No ASICS, GPU, etc.

I use Ctrl+C, but I suppose that kills it.. Thx. Looks like it's the only way. But I see a "Nxt stopped" after ^C. So maybe that is a normal exit.

so basically a 100% rpemined crypto (sicne all the "currency" had to come from somewhere) - and on top of that you need to pay loads of money just to start making any extra. On top of that it promotes hoarding currency isntead of trading it then Oo.
Cant call something thats available for those with big wallets a new bitcoin.. .cmon.

It's not a pyramid scheme. At the beginning of the author NXT distributed in proportion to how much he listed sponsors. Besides NXT is not so expensive to buy coins and start mining. When the author makes those resources planned, then NXT really more expensive to buy and it will become more expensive. http://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,5.msg82.html - in this topic, you can specify your wallet, you will list a few coins for you to understand how it works.

Everyone that has NXT paid for them. All of the NXT that exists was paid for to the creator (BCNext), not premined. The BTC that was given to BCNext was used to fund the development of NXT.. and as a reward the stakeholders got the first batch of NXT from the genesis block according to how much they donated. Not a single person got any NXT for free, not even the creator.

Why is my timer missing? Your coins need 1440 confirmations before they can mine. After that it will appear. circa 24h+

And include new directions to get the client running, since it's a completely different process now.
