Thanks for the questions cap'n! First and foremost, we have a new idea for how governance should work in order to make it more accurately reflect the actual desires and opinions of the user base as a whole, as articulated in our draft whitepaper here: https://trello-attachments.s3.amazonaws.com/5ab47e4ad64f4e6864f957de/5ad7162c44e4e8e086113291/3dcaceee94d7b9ef421a67a75b747cdb/01KT-Whitepaper-v1.1.pdfImplementing this method of governance depended on the most recent Dash development cycle, which resulted in Dash 0.13 "Evolution" which came out about two months ago. We must first merge the 01coin code with the new version of Dash (0.13.2) before we can begin work on the governance architecture. This process, unfortunately, is admittedly taking longer than anticipated, first because Dash delayed the release of 0.13 by more than two full years and now due to scheduling conflicts within 01coin's volunteer dev team. Our lead dev, OwenRay, recently indicated that he will have time to begin working on the merge in April, though. I will say, one thing I've found is important to keep in mind with community coins is that community members are all just volunteers who usually have jobs and studies in their day-to-day lives that take priority. So sometimes things might not progress as quickly as we might like. The flip side of that, though, is everyone's welcome to contribute, if they see an area in which they can help speed things up. As for examples of vote ideas, these could be anything related to marketing or development. Our hope for the coin is to modernize and secure it as much as possible with the latest and best code available in order to provide a strong foundation upon which the community builds it. As for the donation address - that is a temporary warehouse for revenue generated by 01VPS.net. The donation address is a multi-signature address, so I knew diverting funds to it would mean they could not be tampered with (even by me) until which time a suitable corporate entity was created for 01VPS.net that could take ownership of the funds. So most of those funds will go towards paying 01VPS.net's debts and expenses once it has an established entity to claim them. In truth, only about 5052 ZOC from that address are actual donations. |

I appreciate your concerns. Thank you for expressing them. In our opinion, the Dash governance system is broken and needs to be fixed. Fortunately for you and everyone else, you are free to choose whether to agree or disagree with that. If you think Dash is perfectly fine as is, there are ample opportunities to buy Dash and other coins like it. If you think it can be improved upon in terms of the functionality of its governance, then 01coin provides an alternative option. We are not asking you to buy any ZOC - merely providing an alternative to the many Dash clones that already exist. Of course, you are also free to believe that our development process is unreasonably long. I might encourage you to take a wait-and-see approach with 01coin, but it's entirely up to you whether you'd like to buy some ZOC or not. We are not on CMC yet because we have not reapplied since last year when we weren't listed on any CMC-supported exchanges. We still have a placeholder website online at 01coin.io and would like to have our full website (draft version here: https://github.com/zocteam/website) launched prior to reapplying. Speaking personally, I am confident our next application will be successful, especially since we are now on three CMC-supported exchanges, each with active ZOC/BTC trade volume. OwenRay - our lead dev - says the full website will be online sometime in April, so it shouldn't be long. 01VPS.net and dice-age.com have already defeated your "lack of purpose" accusation. 01VPS.net started out as a one-man operation by a member of the 01coin community, after all. And all community members are welcome to launch their own ZOC-supported services, with as much support as the zocteam is able to provide. For example, a community member recently suggested the project develop an open-source ZOC payment processing API. This is something the zocteam is now actively investigating. The currently-available VPS packages on https://01VPS.net will be grandfathered at the end of the month, which means they will no longer be available for purchase as of June 1, 2019. They will be replaced by a new set of plans. Be forewarned, though, the new plans will offer less RAM but more disk space. This reallocation of server resources is necessary in order to ensure the 01VPS.net service remains capable of at least paying for itself, if not profitable. On the plus side, the price of our most affordable IPv4-enabled package will in fact come down. Installation/Update and syncing of a new FDReserve (FDR) 1.4.0 node can be done on IPv4 or IPv6! It will take less than 30 minutes (depending on network traffic). Owners of an existing FDReserve (FDR) 1.3.0 nodes installed on 01VPS.net need only click once again on the "1-click" install/update FDR recipe, and it will automatically UPGRADE your FDR node to the new sw version. On your local machine do backup your wallet.dat, after that, replace and run the new bin FDR Qt (fdreserve-qt.exe if you are in a windows pc) and run to start re-sync blocks with the network. Hi mrquackquack - yes, the ZOC wallet is currently offline at all of our exchange partners as we investigate the cause of a chainsplit that occurred today. These wallets will remain offline for a few days as the blockchain stabilizes. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi mrquackquack - it will probably be at least another week or two. We need to push out a new wallet release and make sure a strong majority of the network has switched over to the new wallet before we can re-enable the exchange wallets. The new wallet should be ready in a few days, but it's anyone's guess how long the network adoption process will take. Of course, we'll do our best to announce the mandatory update to everyone and hopefully help speed the process along as best we can.
