I thought LUX is ASIC/FPGA resistant after they forked to Phi2?
No algo is fpga resistant ETH will be possible on xilinx FPGAs ? is it possible ? i dont think it be as fast as good gpus because it need fast memory, but i don't know, perhaps it can be done...

No algo is fpga resistant they stated it will be, it will be interesting to see who is correct in the end As i have not oredered a FPGA i do hope the LUX team will be able to stay ahead of the FPGA programmers. If they are able to make requirements so you need new FPGA it is like ASIC resistance which is as good as it can get. But i dont have the skills to do more than hope hehe. Since FPGAs are programmable and also they can have their memory changed (at least some of the FPGAs I've seen use normal PC RAM), how can a developer make an algorithm that's FPGA resistant and not GPU resistant at the same time? But most importantly, WHY would anyone do that? FPGAs are like GPUs but capable for anything except gaming. Sure, GPU mining is a bit easier at the moment, but you still have to find the right miner and set the correct clock speeds. FPGAs can be as easy to use in the future. As long as they're open source and not closed like the ASICs which will be turned into useless heaters once an algorithm change or the manufacturer decides to release a faster ASIC, I don't mind FPGAs taking over GPU mining. I believe coin developers are trying to keep it fair to everyone, but if their algo is tuned right, it will have the same hashrate/$$$ invested. We just dont want anyone with a 3k$ hardware to crush a 300k$ gpus farm. Theres nothing wrong in being efficient, just make sure its fair, thats all... Up to know ASICs and FPGAs has been seen as unfair thats why theres so much hate towards them, clear this issue and lets welcome more efficient hardware!

Like the KU040, the Nexys video is power limited (4A max core supply). This means it would need an extra external regulator soldered to the PCB to get a reasonable hash rate. On 0xBitcoin for example it would be limited to around 150MH/s on the default power supply, vs. 1.5 GH/s with a 'full' power supply.
Does this mean no support of your SW for this card (Just going by original thread where you stated you were targeting it)? Need to know if I need to get rid of the one I got. Don't mind soldering components either.

But we do want $3K in hardware to crush GPU farms. We need $30/day per FPGA or the first batch of the newest ASIC is much more appealing.

Short term, sure but if you want short term just resale crack or cocaine (jk of course)

Short term, sure but if you want short term just resale crack or cocaine (jk of course) In crypto mining there is _only_ short term because if you haven't made your money back in the first few months you are in the long tail and will never break even. For any algorithm that hasn't gone ASIC, residual hardware value is paramount. A previous generation GPU will still be worth something on the 2nd hand market to somebody looking to build a gaming rig. What do you envisage an FPGA to be worth on the 2nd hand market when it is no longer clearly profitable for mining? How many FPGAs have been through ebay in the past year vs. how many GPUs? IMO realistic residual value potential of an FPGA needs a long, hard look in the cold light of day.

This is ABSOLUTELY wrong. People who started mining five years ago got their return on investment after 36 months so your argument is demonstratively false. There is no recent FPGA available on ebay because simply said only developpers buy them untill now and they need it and have no reason to sale them via ebay. They will sale them on specialized website or via forum of devs.

I observed mineority stock. Once they went from 1400 something to under 1000 over nightm after a short period of 0 stock. Now they went from 150 to 0 suddenly. Maybe some big order, maybe they come back up.

Bittware is now the only choice for boards, slightly more expensive but significantly faster hashrate.

They aren't really comparable on that scale.

there was only a couple hundred left at mineority but after whitefire posted his youtube video of 104 GH/s with 0xbitcoin, the rest was probably sold within 24 hours.

When will the group buy be for these boards? Will all the previous bitstreams need to get converted to run on the bitware?

Group buy will open up soon. In my own code it is a one line change to support the XUPVVP-VU9 but I am also supporting the XUPVVP-VU13. These cards have many advantages over the Xilinx cards (30% and 80% faster, default water-cooling, plus dynamic voltage control and automated reboot capability). My rig is made of Xilinx cards because that has been all that was available, but my next rig will be Bittware cards for sure.

High end Cards like this need a GOOD server for DEPLOYMENT. These servers come with 8x11000 RPM FANS. Each PUSH about 300CFM- rated to cool 4800w. Comes with 4x1600w REDUNDANT Powersupply 3+n Config. Another Advantage is these have IPMI - Means the server can be remotely controlled and configured. We have approximately 15 - 20 units of SuperServer | 4U | 4027GR-TR in baseload configuration for those folks who purchased the FPGA. These servers are Ex-Lease from EXXACT Corp and are available for pickup in Sydney Australia or ship worldwide. Config 2x E5-2603 - Dual Root need for all 11 PCie Function. 2x16Gb DDR3 ECC Ram 1x 400GB LSI WarpDrive with windows 10 1709 Preloaded. 4x1600w Platinum Powersupply 3+n config. 4800w Avaliable . The FPGA are 350w. So you can run and cool 3500w worth of hardware. 2x Genuine Supermicro RailSet 8x GPU 8+8PIN Cable Set These Chassis are incredibly HARD TO FIND as they are used for DEEP-LEARNING and other AI functions. We have tested these with Rx580 and 1080ti and other Intel FPGA Check pics. https://ibb.co/nNdHe8https://ibb.co/bYi5XThttps://ibb.co/nkb3K8https://ibb.co/ms8uRohttps://ibb.co/c94esTAlbum https://imgur.com/a/22FsxIDPrice is $2900 AUD for BULK. Also listed on Ebay.com.au for $3500 AUD Thanks

30% and 80% faster? That's a pretty big bump in speed. Hope it doesn't cost an arm and leg.
