That's certainly true, mate. Aside from Ethereum's slow movement in price, other competitors have taken the lead by adopting the latest technologies within the Blockchain industry. Ethereum's biggest competitor yet will be Binance with its Binance Chain. With greater scalability than Ethereum itself, it could reduce ETH's market dominance by a large margin. While Ethereum is still the golden standard of decentralization when it comes to smart contracts, other competitors will gain greater adoption within the mainstream world because of their unmatched capacity for transactions worldwide.

Until Ethereum adopts PoS, it won't be going far in price. Recently, Bitcoin has been rising in price at a slow and steady rate. Despite this positive trend, Ethereum and most altcoins on the market haven't increased that much in price. In fact, most altcoins have been on a small decline in price while Bitcoin heads towards being valued at $12,000 per coin. Ethereum will reach the $2500 if the previous high of the price get crossed by the ETH. But this year it is not possible to reach the such high level. You know currently ETH is trading at $230 and to go it's previous high of $1500, it has to 20% per month. So, this is not possible as the market for the altcoin is still in sluggish mood.

Completely agree with you, mate. Bitcoin's the main trigger of prices in the crypto market. For Ethereum to truly reach a new ATH, Bitcoin needs to rise first without a doubt. So far, this is taking longer than expected after a massive drop in price since 2018. If Bitcoin continues to hover between $10k to $13k then, we might expect ETH to have a price of around $500 at the end of the year. Considering the slow movement in price across the whole crypto market, it'll take quite a few years before we'll be able to see Ethereum being valued at $2,500 per coin. Still though, we're just predicting/speculating prices here. Cryptocurrencies are well known to be volatile and highly uncertain. Which is why, we cannot determine the true value of Ethereum within the future.

In the meantime, we should stick to buying low and selling high as much as we can before the next bull market begins. This could be achieved by using stablecoins and Ethereum, in order to profit within a bear market. Once the bull market takes effect, you'll obtain greater rewards with your ETH holdings while the rest of the money will be secured in your stablecoin of choice. $2.5k looks a long way off for ETH at the moment. However I do think it will hit that sort of price eventually, as it is the strongest smart contract platform out there. At the moment the whole market is still moving as one, with everything stagnating until hopefully the bull returns.

i agree with you ,$2.5$ is too high for ethereum to achieve and bitcoin has already recovered but ethereum is still left behind . We might see more decline on the price of eth this year it might go back below $100
