I don't like ethereum because of things what are those developers doing. They are playing much with everything and because of them immutability might not even exist there as devs seems to play around with blockchain whenever they like. First time it was DAO and time when fork happened they are rolled back the chain. This time they want to play with the finds that parity lost due to bad code of smart contract. What about other contracts that lost money? Nothing they simply ignore those but when big money is involved devs will jump in to fix. Oh and don't forget that there is another proposal that could allow anybody to ask for a little change in the blockchain if it gets approved. You should look at EIP999 and EIP867

Yes, but for the newcomer and even for the veterans with years, that rush when you see coins suddenly burst onto the charts, is impossible to ignore. I don't think there will be any cryptocurrency which will catch up to Bitcoin in terms of price, but in volume of trading maybe there is like ethereum. The price is hardly reachable because of the supply difference between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

I understand the need for us to do our own research before deciding which coin we feel is the best next to bitcoin but that being said I also think that the market speaks for itself when it comes to issues like these. You look at the market in terms of project, market prices and market value and it is not hard to tell that the next best coin to bitcoin is actually ethereum.

I think it is ethereum which is known to be next to Bitcoin when it comes on market popularity, demand and for having a large community of users.
