I'll be honest, I was going to avoid this thread but after seeing a number of cases in the UK of those parents who just totally wrecked their kids lives or killed them I'd at least just call the police to come and check it out doesn't have to be a complaint or anything but if there's a kid crying constantly and stuff then something doesn't seem right. You don't want to be one of those neighbours who just assumed their neighbours were normal only to find there's a dead child in the house weeks later after the drug addict had finally had enough :S.

Granted, I'm assuming the worse here but the guy sounds like he needs help never mind the smoking weed at 3:00am, I've been depressed lately because of the stupid news reports again >_>.

Haha oh my god. Tell that mother fucker if he is going to smoke weed on a daily basis then he better stop inhaling all those nasty fucking chemicals and moldy weeds! Well, the most serious issue here is the child. If the child is neglected because this individual has to take care of his narcotics habit, that's seriously fucked up, and something you as an adult should do something about.

No matter what you do, and how this turns out, it's going to be ugly one way or another.

The way of least resistance would of course be to move somewhere else if you can do that, and just pretend that you never saw, heard or learned anything. After all, kids are dying, being mistreated and neglected every day of the week all over the globe, there's not much you can do to change the evil ways of the world.

As I mentioned before, I've lived in this house practically all my life. He's been living there not even two years, so I'm not going to move just because some scruffy chav degenerate wont stop smoking his shitty weed. If I ask him and he doesn't stop, he'll be getting blasted with a water pistol until he gets the message.

And it shouldn't be ugly situation at all. All he has to do is respect my wishes and smoke somewhere where I can't smell it or hear him puking his lungs up.

Well there is no low cost provider of a solution to this problem. Him not smoking weed anymore would probably greatly inconvenience him, and you spending the money to make your house airtight would be very expensive. You are imposing a cost on him by smelling and being bothered, he is imposing a cost on you by making a smell that bothers you. Almost everyone in the world smells and gets bothered by fowl smells but not everyone makes fowl smells (atleast on that level). So it would appear to me that the onus is on him to rectify the situation.

Let me ask you this. Suppose i had the power to make the fowl smell go away or to give you an infinite amount of money. Suppose i offered you 1 dollar and the smell would stay, or 0 dollars and the smell would go away. Surely you would chose the latter. suppose it was 2 dollars and the smell would stay vs 0 dollars and the smell would go, still you would chose the latter right? Imagine that i kept increasing the amount of dollars, 2, 3, 4 ect... Where would be the tipping point? At how many dollars would you chose to keep both the money and the fowl smell over no money and no smell?

He can do whatever he wants in the comfort and privacy of his own home as long as it doesn’t negatively affect me. It is negatively affecting me and he's often neglecting or not looking after his child in the process.

You'd be surprised at home people react when people are nice to them. When people are not nice, the recipient usually get a very low motivation for behaving a good way.
