Hi,

Does anyone have direct experience of flashing the TPlink MR3020 with the Technobit firmware to include CGMiner?
I flashed the file "0_1_0_openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-mr3020-v1-squashfs-factory.bin" on mine (hardware V1.0000000) and it bricked it (yes did wait for it to properly complete then left it for a further 5 mins for good measure) so I am guessing this image is not for this version?

Melb

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Yes it is.
Change your PC IP to 192.168.0.xxx/24 and try default image router IP at http://192.168.0.99 ☺☺ do not miss http part IE does not like IPS in URLS

Sir you are a saviour  Cheesy

I must have tried every other IP apart from 0.99 (0.254, 0.1, 1.1, 1.99) - for some reason I had it fixed in my mind it was 1.99 Roll Eyes

Now I have (successfully as it turns out!) flashed the factory.bin I am guessing I have to apply the Sysupgrade?

I will have a closer look in the morning as its an early night for me...

Many thanks for spotting my error..

Do not do sysupgrade now, you might loose hot plug option
Just set the router with your Network and pool data
And happy hashing

I am glad that you made it
1. It will be good to take a look Change log
2. If you are going to use it with mix of hex products A , B, C (avalon2)
Make sure you set the default miner to HExa otherwise choose the one you are using. If hexa is in your hands select that
3. The best results you will get if you power all devs USB hub tplink and miners from PSU. the key is that all devices connected to share a common PSU ground. If I were you I would throw away tplink power adapter and USB hub power adapter also. Make appropriate cable to power USB hub from PSU and connect tplink both USB cables data and power there + USB of your miners
4. factory.bin image is used when tplink has stock fw. When new image is released the one to be used is sysyupgrade.bin as long as you have openwrt flashed already
5. Happy mining Smiley

Many thanks guys for your help. I think I saw somewhere else that Marto had posted that the HEX16A2 will also power the TP-Link via USB and indeed other USB hubs (I will test that today at some point) - making for a very tidy rig with common grounds throughout... I am never a great fan of the Chinese power supplies anyway as I have several first hand experiences of them resembling a firework when you plug them in Smiley. The TP-Link itself is a great little box with so much potential outside of a router and a great mining device.

Thank you for your great work on the TP-Link Marto - popped in network and pool data & I am happily hashing  Smiley

Nice touch using 'Screen'

Took all of 5 minutes - what a great little solution Grin Took me longer to configure the Hexminer Windoze temporary option!

can I ask when you use the MR2030 do you still need to run a proxy for the avalon 2 HEX16?

No proxy required on Linux/MR2030 it's the best option as it's only 2W compared to what your Windows PC/Laptop uses.

Do note the Wifi is disabled, to save memory, so you need to use the network cable to communicate with it after the firmware upgrade.

Hi,

I've just flashed a MR3020 with the new 0.2.0 firmware, waiting for my HEX8A1 coming in the next couple of days (hopefully... Smiley)
And I was wondering if there's a solution to easily recompile cgminer with --enable-bflsc since I still have an old BFL Single running.

These device does not have a lot of free space and I'm not sure that cloning the whole cgminer repo.

@marto: Could you add an how-to or at least explain how you achieve the compilation on the router ?

Thanks

Hey,
If you are waiting for 8 chip version 2.0 is ok, otherwise watch there website for update for 4 chip version
Please read change log inside the archive. All other devices will not work because they have disabled some of the USB code that stock cgminer uses. You can build two versions of cgminer and run both of course.
There is not how-to for the moment but a good start for you will be to look at hiangfu avalon repo. There are a bunch of scripts there. You can read official openwrt how to also
Good luck

Thanks for the hints, I'll give it a try and let you know.

PS : when trying to reach the repo you were mentioning I first had no result because of a typo.
