My vote is on Litecoin. It's going to take a while for some of the generation 2 crypto currencies (or other ALTs) to catch up to Bitcoin/Litecoin. It's going to take something truly innovative to uproot them as the most popular/valuable electronic currency. I do not see this happening within the next 5-10 years. The network effect is going to have a long lasting affect on Bitcoin/Litecoin prices.

10 years ? NXT is already here.
i don"t think proof of stake is the next generation of cryptocurrencies, but rather a curiosity along the way

WOW !
i don"t dislike quark, and it certainly has a far more valid selling point than all the clones around
but i fail to see a reason for quark mass adoption, unless people expect major flaws in both sha256 and scrypt, which especially for sha256 has become incredibly unlikely by now
also i think it would be more productive to have programming ressources go to making namecoin based web infrastructure easily accessible instead of putting out lots of altcoins
that of course is more of a point against FTC, BBQ, WDC, NVC, DOG and the smaller clones than against quark, but i think it applies to quark as well
