It seems like Quark is developing a following. Can someone give me a rational explanation of why? Is it the name? Is it the Keiser/ Bill Still following? I am just not understanding why it would beat out Worldcoin or Digitalcoin.

1) One of the best security
2) Better distribution than most (QRK audit is still going on by community... check here: http://forum.qrk.cc/thread/368/auditing-block-chain -> 30% of coins in ~30 wallets, that is actually very nice)
3) Nice amount of coins (you can buy everyday items with reasonable numbers, when coin matures)
4) Support of Bill / Keiser (this IS important, can't get around this)
5) Small inflation coded in (coin that is mined out dies, small inflation means more stable)
6) Very active community -> best reason

+1

I see Feathercoin has too many problems with the blockchain from my research, and the developers don't know what they are doing.

Quark, I think may have a good chance to grow fast. Lots of coins out there and low denomination means that it could be used already for trading for goods and services.

And CPU mining, which is fairer can be lots of emerging market adoption and it is super secure.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Today I am moving all my Feathercoin into Quark.

I think Globalcoin (GLC) that is not on the list.    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=243911.0;all
It is hardly visible and still cheap right now.

Also bet on Devcoin.

Will we see any ASIC mining in Quark? Is it even possible?

Not possible, as far as I know, because of the multiple hashing algorithms.

Someone please correct me if that's not true.

So! Which is the best altcoin to invest to right now! I watch coinmarketcap.com but find it confusing at times since values constantly change!

The new coins I"ll be watching in the new year are Nxt and Emunie as they're not Bitcoin forks.   Gridcoin might gain traction.

I still like Peercoin and Primecoin and various forks of PPC/NVC.

Infinitecoin should be in the list.  It's in the top 20 at coinmarketcap and I believe it has a good chance of seeing the most growth.  In its absence I think Megacoin has the best chance out of those listed.  Seems to have a smart and active developer and a good community.

LTC/QRK/XRP

Put enough into this trio and you will be a millionaire by end of next year.

Looks like there is some solid support for Quark. Over 600 btc traded on Cryptsy today, more than any other on there. Also more than NVC, XPM & TRC on BTC-E. People moving in fast. Lord help us when it gets launched on a Chinese exchange.

Those three are my picks as well. Plus I'm watching Protoshares. I think there could be something there.

But I honestly feel like Quark has the best combination of buzz, community, and features that it could really fly this year. It's still a long shot, but one I'm not willing to pass up.
